Hi Everyone.

I've already introduced myself previously. My name is Matthew, 21, devoted Christian, have a diagnosis of Aspergers and from Leeds.

I am looking to make new friends who not only have Aspergers, but are Christian as well.

So if anybody knows anybody who has Christian beliefs or are from Yorkshire, then please let me know. It would be good to meet new people. :D

I feel the term Christian has too much baggage. Especially when tied with the Christian right. I grew up in the church (accepted Christ at 4, rededicated and baptized at 10). I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am what you call post conservative. I am not liberal, but I react very poorly to knee jerk conservativism. I read the bible to come away with take home value. What can I apply to my life? What is God saying to me in this passage, etc. I have problems taking people with extreme views seriously. I believe that bluntness can save a great deal of time. I believe that 'New Age' is just a term, and it is a term conservatives apply to things they want others to fear. (That sounds very... new age). I am Pentecostal but also laid back. (The presence of God and the guidance of the holy spirit is more real to me than eschatological concerns). I believe that God is very active in the lives of believers, and that God is love. I love Jesus and I know that I am saved by faith, however... hell is one of the strangest concepts I have ever heard of, while being one of the most familiar. It is something that is believed, yet quarantined, separated from the forefront of consciousness. I say allow Christ to labor in (general you), that others may see the good work, and want this for themselves.

Nice to meet you, MJH

That?s good to see. It?s a shame that there aren?t more people on this website who are from Leeds or Yorkshire. Is there anybody out there from Yorkshire?

Hello all, this is my first post. I lived in England briefly as a pre-teen when my Dad was stationed there. We lived in Saxmundham and then later in a town just outside Ipswich. I would definitely consider myself a Christian.
