Hey guys long time lurker and first(second possibly?) time poster. I don't normally do this, talking to people about my emotions, that is. However recently I've been feeling horrible, I'm cynical, depressed and isolated. I don't really have anyone to even talk to about these things, most of my friends and family I wouldn't even be able to bring up these things as I hate feeling open and vulnerable around them. The one person I usually talk to these things about has her own problems, we usually try to support each other through these times but the last time we talked I could tell she needs some space so I'm not going to bother her with this stuff. I'm not looking for help, really this is just a way for me to get all this stuff out there. I feel if I let it go for too much longer I'll sink into full blown depression again. It's been a long time since I've been suicidal and I'd much rather not go down that road again.

Staying alive is also what strangely seems to ordinarily happen with me. I recommend you expand your definition of family - for me, it includes anyone I've been able to honestly address my obtuse brain with as well as my genetic relatives. It's important to live for oneself in equal measure with living in the interests of those kind enough to accept our neurology; the greater the sense of peace & health we can project towards them, the more our families might do for us.

See a psychiatrist, breathe slowly, do physical spiritual practices such as yoga  , eat ice cream, follow your heart. Making music can be very therapeutic if you play an instrument. Making art or writing can be helpful. Remember that it is possible for everyone in the world to reconcile their problems.

Thanks guys, I'll try some of those things. Anything to try to keep my anxiety levels down. July was a tough month what with all the stress of moving house, work being extra exhausting and the girl I was with dumping me for no reason. Hell, it wasn't even a true break up she just decided to ignore my texts and calls. August wasn't much better either.

Hey dude, women, esp during their time of the month, dump on men . and they like using that PMS as an excuse for doing so. if you get in a relationship you can expect it. I have not been in even one relationship where they didn't do that.

I am female and think that would be a pretty damn b*tchy move on her part....the monthly time is no excuse to just start ignoring your boyfriend/girlfriend least in my opinion.

Typing out your thoughts on this forum or in a PM can go a long way to relieving some of the pressure you're experiencing. There's always some kind of joy in the midst of all the suffering, you just have to look for it. Chin up, back straight, march onward.

I reckon a Mental Health Day is a necessary way to get out of the doldrums. I take them when needed and just spend the day alone doing something I enjoy, totally separate from anything that needs doing.
