Looks like the question on that site got tooken down due to hate speech good for the mods on that site to take action! It was mentioning why autistic people are useless and why humanity shouldn't euthanize them to better society. I dont get why people use autistic or aspies an an insult on the internet either it pisses me off and offends me!

I do understand where you are coming from. The one thing that gets me is how most people are ignorant. They don't realize that autism is considered as a spectrum. I've run into this at least once or twice. I've had a nurse sit there and tell me DURING a meltdown that I don't seem that autistic because I can communicate. I have severe meltdowns and outbursts if pushed to my limits. It's hard for me to deal with my fears, especially towards dentists and needles. A lot of people don't 'see' the autism in me and often think I'm just throwing a tantrum. People make fun of what they don't understand everyday. It's not just us, but even people who are homosexual get bullied because it's the lack of understanding and such.

People see a kid with severe autism who's banging their head against wall and screaming like a banshee. They automatically justify that as being autism. Yet, not all people with autism scream like banshees either. I always tell my peers online that I am autistic and tell them that if they could spend one week with me, they would see I'm autistic. My autism is more active when I'm at home and becomes more apparent for me. Rarely, I'll go out in public and make noises or flap around my arms. I wish there were more people who were trained in the medical field about the different types and spectrums of autism instead of just being trained for one particular severe case of it.

This, and we do as well, though not in the same way.
I think we recognize that realities aren't always what you originally think they are, because it becomes apparent to us so often.
I think that for an NT, anything that threatens their reality in any way is a huge threat, and generates some form of aggression.

That's a long winded way to say that we accept differences in perception much better than they do.

It's hard for me to accept differences when they come in the form of inconsistencies, unnecessary associations, or deceit.

Some people hate autistic people for the same reason they hate people belonging to a different race, or people from another country, or people who are smarter then them... they hate them so that they can feel better about themselves, and putting down others boosts their ego. People can be bastards, always have been and always will be. Whether they are autistic or NT doesn't matter one bit, if you get down to it. Anywhere you go where people gather, there will be some sort of group mentality and whoever does not fit in the mold of that group faces ridicule. Essentially we are just as tribal in 2014 as we were in 2014 B.C.

theres always been hatred towards autistic people, especialy to those of us whose autism is very visible and as a result easily targeted by prejudiced ignorants, bigots, bullies, pyschopaths.
just have a look at the aspergers isnt autism thread and shark attacks thread attempt to lighten the situation-both threads show just how bigoted, prejudiced and ignorant people can be of autism that is on a different level to theirs.
we dont see type two diabetics complaining about being associated with type ones, people with schizoid PD complaining about being associated with schizophrenia, or people with treatable cancer complaining about being associated with terminaly ill cancer sufferers-just because one form is more complex and severe than the other doesnt mean they arent human and relateable in that way, just because their experience may present differently doesnt mean the core underneath is different,we are all human and dont deserve to be isolated even further by our own kind because we present and function differently.

one thing I have learnt about the internet is, you will never find reality there, really, its very heightened, people are faceless and can be vicious, its not a true representation of real people.

I have heard many terrible things, not about autism, but about jewish people, muslims, overweight people, the list goes on, everything out there that's a little different and someone will jump on it like that.

I find it disgusting as well, but remember the internet is not real life, and try not to take it seriously, and trust me don't get into fights with them, I tried to with a couple of anti Semites, it just impossible to argue, and it just makes you angry.

I would suggest not to go looking for it, it can be very upsetting, in reality most people just like to get reactions out of people, the majority wont have strong opinions about autistic people, but just want to get attention.

I think that internet shows the true nature of people exactly because of this. People say openly what they always think, just don't usually tell it in real life.

I think most aspies are nicer than the average NT, and the niceness becomes off putting to others because it is sincere, without an ulterior motive and other people often have a self serving ulterior motive. When they can't figure you out they cast you out. Period.

A man is waiting for his bus at the bus shelter. He works in the plastics industry. He looks at the plastic shelter and thinks 'most people are ignorant of this'.

Next to him is a mechanic watching the cars go by, thinking to himself 'most people are ignorant of how their cars work'.

Next to him is an avid birdwatcher. He's listening to the birds chirping, thinking to himself 'people just don't realise there's birds singing'.

Anyone who knows anything could refer to someone who doesn't know that thing as ignorant.

Are you aware of the entire process of anything in your life? Are you aware of the processes involved when you turn the tap for cold, drinkable water?

We're all ignorant of something. We're all ignorant of most things. It's difficult enough to be good at one thing, let alone have knowledge of or skill in everything.

Why should the general public care about autism? It's one of many, many things in life to maybe give thought to.

If I wasn't autistic I wouldn't give the first thought to autism. As it is, I hardly give thought to it. My time here (on Earth) is short - I'd see it as a waste of time to research something such as autism.

I don't research the mating habits of beetles for the same reasons.

If you aren't interested in autism what are you on here for? (-:

He's saying he wouldn't be interested in autism if he wasn't autistic--which is not quite the same thing.

However, it should be noted that there are many nonautistic people who are interested in autism.

For future reference, those same people still get bored & attack the questions in their heads they haven't yet figured out.
