Why has no one started this thread yet?

*Looks accusingly at Krabo*

Because really....he's kind, lots of fun, and very smart with words. Not to mention an impressive runner.

Enviro, you are one of my favourite people here. 8)

Let's hear it for enviro, people.....

Shall we bake cakes?

Or hire the Cirque to perform?

Or would he prefer De Niro doing "Hamlet'?

Salutamus, Enviro!

Although I haven't had much interaction with enviro as I'm more of a Random Discussion regular than Off The Wall and enviro seems to be the other way around, I find many of his posts really funny and clever whenever I read them. I also appreciate those nice SA photos he posts sometimes (maybe not recently). So while I can, I'd like to express my fondness of him, although quite possibly he may not even recognize me.

Hi everyone

Thanks, wasn't expecting this. :D

WHERE'S KRABO? Missing again? Wish he'd let us know when he plans to go into the forest and commune with the wolves.

And I_wanna_blue seems to have voyaged into the blue, hope he'll be back soon.

Mooms and Sylkat are two very very special ladies on here and I never feel lonely with them around. Three cheers for them! VIVA!

Kip shares a lot of my special interests. I don't know jk that well but like the posts I've seen.

Booyakasha - if you're in any way endangered we'll start a Booyakasha Rescue Team. Your fur is your own and no Anna Wintours will get to you!

Kinda curious to know who else here is left handed. Show of hands, anyone?

I understand. You better not try it as you would fall off the flower.

Dear Sylkat are you a southpaw or a northpaw?

(crabs, however, can be octodextrous).

Although I am terrible about keeping up with my PM's despite Mooms' well-considered efforts to introduce us, I find Enviro to be an immensely friendly, interesting and well-informed chap who I am pleased to know. :D And I can only say I hope to find more time to hang out with him and everyone around here in the midst of all the involvements I've taken up. Please believe me, if you don't see or hear from me for little stints, I'm probably alright but probably wishing I was talking to you all. And that most definitely includes Enviro. :D

I continue to pop in here frequently though and see if there's any conversation I can drop into. Sometimes I don't, because I can't think of anything to say in them at the moment. But just as often, there is something delightful being discussed by all you delightful people which I have an "in" for. 8)

In other news:
I cannot speak for Sylkat. I am but a Northpaw, myself.

This raises an interesting question. In Humans, our brain has two hemispheres, left and right. The left hemisphere is said to control our right sides, and vice versa. So now I'm wondering, how many hemisphere-like divisions do octopus brains have, and how is control of their arms apportioned between them? Does one hemisphere control 4 arms, or one quartile control two arms, or one eighth-division of an octopus brain control each arm?

And do octopuses have dominant arms? Maybe most of them are first-handed while some subset are fourth-handed or seventh-handed.

Wait a minute, I think I just remembered something: I believe I read somewhere that each arm actually has its own "brain" cluster embedded in it somewhere, which is connected to the octopus's central cephalic brain via their nervous system.

Actually, each arm is controlled by the Great Old Ones, sleeping a dreamless sleep 'neath untold fathoms.

All octopii and squids and sea slugs are their minions, you know.
