DNA is trying to kill us. There, I said it. Here's why:

Yes humans are animals but I think that since we have such advanced souls, we must be something else. I understand that dogs, dolphins, parrots and any other animal you can think of have souls but it's just that ours are better. Do they worship gods? Do they have paved roads? Video games? Internet? No. True we are wreaking havoc across the globe with our creations and existing quite outside the natural order of things but maybe we are supposed to? I believe that we used to be a race of immortal and powerful interstellar travelers that desired knowledge, exploration and creation. Maybe we had a creator or god that made the Universe and/or us, maybe we didn't. Yet whether we were ordered to or not, we eventually came to Earth but we somehow became "infected" with DNA. This stuff proved to have a catastrophically negative effect on our kind and cursed us to live as mortal Primates, taking away all our everlastingness, powers and memories. I'll say something else: mortality is a disease and we must find the cure. Perhaps we slowly took the reins of evolution with what power we could scrape together over the generations to create a tool-using form we could more efficiently use (ie. the human body). Maybe we used these forms to try to destroy life to weaken it such that we could one day become immune to DNA and break free of its mortal chains. But I believe there was a war happening between our animal and soul selves. Perhaps DNA, being the selfish and evolving string of sugars that it is, tweaked our nervous systems to become hyper-sensitive to certain pleasures. We would then go on to create things like alcohol, recreational drugs and have way more sex than we are probably supposed to. Not only that, but we learn that we can acquire pleasures at a much-reduced or even free cost and so cheating and crime become reality. The rampant sex creates overpopulation, war and other world problems. Yet we keep getting smarter and living longer, cheating the system of life and death which might ultimately lead to more problems. So who will win first? Will a 4 or so billion year old genetic program try to destroy us with pleasure and ease or will we eventually escape this deoxyribonucleic slavery?

Maybe religion does have the answer. We believe in afterlife realms where we exist forever but why not here on this Earth? We have religion because we know there is something supernatural out there, something that can benefit our soul halves. I just don't think we are true animals or were ever supposed to be. Perhaps texts like the Bible have the answer to our salvation. Think of the Immaculate Conception. A virgin woman gives birth to a god (or godlike being whatever you like). To me that says something. Everything in society is propaganda that tells you you have to have sex and create a family in order to have happiness and not be outcasted. Even our bodies (likely DNA itself) are forcing this concept into our heads. Sex is optional, it is not required for personal survival. Perhaps is we can resist it, then that is the key to allowing our souls to become free (of course, we'd probably require some kind of crazy ritual to go with it but that's another bridge to cross I guess). So maybe those of us that are virgins really are superior. Maybe we Aspies are the new evolution of our kind instead of just a minority. Sure it seems insane to grasp that all social human activities could eventually end one day but it's something to think about.

This theory reminds me of the movie, "Final Fantasy:Spirits Within" :

- "the Phantoms are the spirits of dead aliens brought to Earth on a fragment of their destroyed planet" [source 1]
- "The are also experimenting in ways to trap Phantom infection in humans, with Aki successful trapping a Phantom inside her" [source 2]

sources:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fant ... its_Within
2. http://finalfantasy.neoseeker.com/wiki/ ... its_Within

Here is a mix of the theatrical release , we see Akia receiving memories from the phantom inside her.

Do you have any evidence for any of your claims? How do you know we have a soul? How do you know we were once immortal? How do you know DNA makes us mortal? Why would DNA want us to go extinct, and why would it suddenly happen after millions of years?

How do you think we managed to live without DNA? How did we synthesise proteins? How did we pass genetic material to the next generation, both of cells and organisms? Did we use RNA?

What do you say about the evidence that we are descended from apes? I don't mean the genetic evidence, which I guess your (highly bizarre) idea can explain away internally, but what about the fossil evidence?

You also made some fundamental scientific errors in your post beyond those unanswered questions. DNA is not a "string of sugars", it is a nucleic acid (deoxyribonucleic acid) - a string of nucleotides. The nucleotides contain sugar (specifically deoxyribose), but they are not sugars, any more than water is oxygen.

It's got a lot of holes I know. Although I am interested to know if there are other forums on the Internet where this might be better discussed? I'd love to get into a deeper discussion with someone about it.

A non-denominational mysticism forum is what you want. With 'mysticism' and 'forum' as keywords I got quite a long list.

First of my hits was these guys:

They are using psilocybin mushrooms as a launching pad for their theories but it doesn't seem mandatory. Just don't do any anti-drug rants and you'll fit right in. Your thread could have been copy-pasted from that forum so it is where you will likely find the sort of discussion you want.

Actually- we did get along fine without either sex, or death, for about three billion years.

That was back when we were one celled microbes.

Then we did that "Cambrian Explosion" thing like 600 million years ago, and decided to have specialized cells, tissues, organs, and to get big enough to be seen by the naked eye.

Maybe the OP has a point. If it wasnt broke then why did we have to fix it with this multicellular fad?

We shoulda stayed as protozoa!
