Fantasy Lands-Gandesha-Let's Roleplay!
Okay, I decided that it would be confusing to have people creating characters in the middle of people roleplaying...obviously, new members might turn up late and want to join in. So in this thread, you do the actual roleplaying...engaging with other characters, describing your own characters actions and the world around you etc.
I have yet to make my character...so someone else will have to be brave and get this moving...
NOTE:-please keep to pure roleplay in here. I will set up another thread for questions and suggestions etc.

Can I use a character from my story? I think it should be okay as I am the creator of him and all...
EDIT: Argh, didn't notice the other thread. *kicks self*

A slight breeze whisped past a dark figure standing on a rooftop. The figure's cloak flapped around in the cold night's wind. The person looked at the moon and mumbled, "I can tell something bad is going to happen..." The cloaked figure took their hood off, revealing their face. It was a young woman, and appeared to be in her late teens. Her beatiful blue eyes glistened in the moonlight as she stood there, looking at the full moon. She sighed a bit, then sat down on the roof, still looking at the moon.

Koise walked over the spine of the roof, and gently walked down to where Krystal stood. Koise unslung his backpack and looked up to her.
"What's wrong?" Koise asked
Krystal repeated her phrase.
"I wonder how you can tell..." Koise said. Koise then observed the Full Moon. He liked the moon and it's light, as it was very serene to him. He found it mystic, for it is light enough to illuminate the objects around him and Krystal, yet dim enough to leave ambiguity to what they really were.
He then delved into his backpack and got out his favourite book: DestiQuest. He got the book on his most recent birthday from his best friend Booger, and it was a piss-take on the Fantasy Genre, taking a crack at everything from the elf helper to the evil lord's castle being at the top of the map.
He smiled as he read a humorous phrase.

At about the same time, and a floor below, a hole opened in reality (not a pretty sight. Imagine having your eyes scraped with steel wool) and vomited out a Quatermass. The room he was catapulted into was a toilet, which was fortunate. The reality hole, having vomited him out, politely closed up and left him to vomit into the toilet bowl.
"Uuuurrrggghhh! Note to self, never do a time-slash in a spinning fairground ride."
"This is self: suggestion noted and filed."
It has been pondered that the first sign of madness is talking to yourself, and the second is replying. However, people rarely progress beyond signs three and four: looking for hairs in your palms, and finding them. That's because traditional madness has not just bifurcated or trifurcated. The initial branching was a dodekafurcation, or a branch of 12.
Quatermass was sane, for many definitions of sane. Which was surprising, considering the eldritch things he'd either defeated, or run away from, depending on the consequences and/or power of said eldritch thing(s).
He remembered a litany that his mentor had said to him, and he muttered it mostly to himself....
"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream, people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice and somewhere else the tea is getting cold."
He heard noises on the rooftop.
"Why are there always people on the roof? Conspirators, adventurers, brigands and rebels?"
This meant that something was happening. He looked out the window, and recognised the architecture. Gandesha, a strange all/any time/space. A nexus of worlds, perhaps, although Quatermass didn't know for sure.
He looked down on his two weapons. Thanatos was his trusty gunblade, or at least as trusty a hybrid weapon could be when he could run out of ammo. Thanks to a botched magical experiment in temporal relativistics, the gunblade had a random amount of ammo in it at any one time from 2 to 500 bullets. And no matter how many he reloaded, it was still fugging random!! !
The other sword, Chronos, he currently held in his hand. Used in the right way, it could move him through time and space. Used incorrectly, it could tear reality down like an old curtain. It wasn't the sort of sword that lent itself to battle, especially where random time effects could shift his adversary into his past (painful, as the adversary could launch a sneak attack, in blatant disregard for causality) or into his future (useful for getting breathing room, but the effect was randomised. Some adversaries, luckily, ended up being broiled to death when the Sun expands...).
"Thanatos, Chronos, come on. We may have work to do."
With that, he leapt through the roof, landed, and obtained what in one, highly specialised vernacular, was a +100 headache, partly from his recent time-slash, but mostly from bursting through wood, stone and concrete with his skull.
"Hey, have you two got anything like paracetemol or aspirin here?"

While most seemed to be on the roof one remained low to ground. A short figure, however well-grown considering her background she was only a child by heart. Then again, she had yet to reach the age of adults only being roughly in her teens. Scuttling down the street a halo bobbed and bounced overhead seeming to illuminate the night. From afar, with the pitch black someone would see an eery glow and possibly think it a specter.
With every shuffling step the young girl moved about through the dark. Her small puff of a tail wiggled a bit and waved from side to side. The cabbit child scratched her violet-furred chin and looked about, hearing voices around but unable to see its source. Inconvienently, for being part feline Marie's vision could not pierce the darkness of night. By sun's fall she would be as blind as a human and to find her at this time would be quite rare.
A sudden crashing sound caused her to back away momentarily. Debris and dust fell off the roof and her ears pressed down, scurrying away to not get caught in its raining. Someone was senseless enough to damage one of these buildings and it left her both confused and irritated that she wondered whether now to come and give a stern talking. Unfortunately, this girl had naught the strength to back up her words nor the assertiveness to speak them. She only squeaked a bit to herself and looked about.
She wondered a bit about this city; being a traveler of dreams Marie could never choose where to end up but it seemed that for awhile she wasn't able to leave this place. She knew until she fulfilled her purpose here she would be able to leave but for now things were calm and there was no threat to challenge. This would be relieving but she wanted to move on and maybe get to other worlds. For now maybe the crashing sound would be what she was looking for and she decided to go investigate.
Hopping off the ground with her strong rabbit legs she pointed her palms at the ground and created two lines of pink, arcing together at the top and pointing at the bottom. By the time it finished gravity pulled her body back down and she was now bouncing on top of a floating giant heart. Quickly she made it shoot upwards and she swung her body underneath, now on top of the roof but still clinging to the heart. Her feet now brushed against the dusty rubble of the roof and she let go, allowing the heart to float to the sky. Now up higher it felt a bit chillier and she shivered, her fur standing up on edge. Turning her head she caught glimpse of figures in the dark. Squinting a light on the roof allowed her to make out the figured but it occassionally flickered, its wiring possibly damaged by Quatermass' stunt. Fortunately she saw no present threat in the group but she wondered if it would be appropriate to justify her presence.
"Eh.. just checking out the sky-line." she said, forcing and embarrassed smile. Having to come up so high in the middle of night for nothing wasn't exactly something she expected. Hopefully whatever kept her tied to this world would make itself present soon...

Gandesha's northern outskirts were sheltered woodlands, with large mansions, home to the city's wealthy citizens with mostly mayope trees and golden streams. Beyond that was hilly farmland, and the start of the Gimloin River.
The moon cast an enchanting light on the streams, as Sindri stalked through the night, towards Grosling Manor, in search of something much more than a mere trinket, and no-one was going to stand in his way.
The massive hedge was a pathetic barrier.
Sindri pulled a small bottle of grade 3 plant poison out of his sturdy bag, and splashed it onto the hedge in front of him. The hedge began to turn black, and started shrivelling towards the ground. The hard branches rotted away, and within one minute, all that remained of the hedge was a pile of black leaves and goo. Sindri walked straight through where the hedge used to stand tall. The mansion was about 40 metres away from that point, and the 19 year old Black Mage crept silently towards the back door...

Sleep was out of the question for Rain. It was not a surprise; sleeping had never been easy. She could not even remember the last time she had slept through the night. Just the same, she mused as she wandered the streets, it was a pain.
She had been feeling uneasy lately, to tell the truth. Uneasy and unhappy. It was probably having too much energy. She was a wanderer. Staying in one place for too long was out of the question. Yet she had no where else to go and nothing else to do. She needed to find a job, and soon. There had been one time, thousands of years ago, when she had passed her time without purpose. Now, those times only brought back memories. Thinking, dreaming especially, is a destructive tool.
Rain sighed and shook her head. Her long white hair caught briefly on the breeze and settled down. It would be such a nice night for flying. The sky was so soothingly far from reality. At the moment, an escape was all she needed. Once it was morning again she would be fine, but for tonight, the nightmares were still too vivid.
She spread her wings, casting aside the spell that normally hide them. Each feather caught on the breeze, and she rose into the air. The wind rushed around her, and peace returned. Beneath her, the buildings were faint and dusty. A child's drawing, nothing of importance. It was a pitiful way to look at the world. She sank lower, barely coasting, until she hovered a few feet above the buildings roofs.
There were others about; well, of coure there were. Gandesha was a large city. There was business to be had at all hours, people to meet, things to do. Scurrying, scurrying, scurrying. Didn't they know it would all be pointless in the end? That in a few hundred years, no one would remember their names or faces or deeds? Everyone, from the wealthiest man to the strongest warrior to the dirtiest beggar, would all merge into one. The future was not sympathetic.
There were a few people on one of the roofs, and Rain sighed, unhappy. She had been planning to perch on a similar roof tonight. Roofs used to provide solance, back in the old days. Now it seemed as if they were the newest bars.
Wandering the streets might be a better alternative. If she kept away from the main roads, it was unlikely that anyone would disturb her. She began to lower herself, then stopped when she heard a crash.
A man blasted out the top of the roof, startling the group already gathered there. Through the roof? Rain shook her head again. People these days. There was surely a door somewhere inside. She wasn't sure that she had ever seen anyone willingly go through a building like that. She had tossed a few people, sure, but that was different. The man on the roof didn't appear to be shocked or frightened or battle torn. How interesting.
It was not everyday that she saw something that surprised her. Staying might not be such a bad idea after all. The building behind the roof rose to a peak, but the sides were sloped enough that she could stand. She folded her wings, leaned against the peak, and began to listen.

"Monkey monkey monkey!" chanted the cheeky clown-faced monkey Dibble.
She leapt from chimniny to rooftop, disturbing most of the people who lived inside. Didn't matter!
"Hmmm...what shall I do tonight? I KNOW!" Dibble grinned. She didn't mean any harm, honest, she was just so cheeky and free-spirited that she often caused trouble.
She leapt up, so she was right in front of the moon.
"Hee hee hee!" she threw out her arms, powerful magic swirling around her. Not that she knew of it's power. It just helped her cause trouble, that's all it did.
Light spewed out of her, waking up everyone and putting them all in VERY bad moods.
The light disappeared, and everyone did their best to get back to sleep.
"Ha ha ha! That was funny!" Dibble leapt away. Opening a small portal for herself, she returned to her world, where there was no one but her, and fell into a contented sleep.
Myrrhdyn listened attentively to the various sounds of the night as she wandered among the trees on the outskirts of Gandesh, trying to not get caught up in the various reflections and fluttering insects that always seemed to draw her attention. She always walked the woods at night, merging into the moonlit shadows, invisible to all but those with the keenest eye. Dark green was a good choice of colour for clothing when one preferred to blend in with their natural surroundings. Lifting her head, she focussed on the full moon overhead, absorbing the light which now reflected perfect twin orbs in her irises. A barn owl flew past, dusky wings gliding effortlessly through the still and silent air and a smile came to her lips at the beauty still to be found in such a sight...a sight that most disregarded on a regular basis.
Her energy levels were neither high nor low, leaving her in a rare state of serene calmness... a sensation that made walking not so very different to floating through quiet waters. In such states, it was not unusual for Myrrdhyn to simply drift away inside her own head, yet oddly, she always remained very much aware of her surroundings. Thus it was that she found herself pondering on the issue of Flandercourt...the beloved cottage she had grown up in and which she now found threatened by one of the many opportunistic developers moving into the area from other cities within Fantasy Lands. They had tried almost every imaginable method of persuasion, from large sums of money to physical threads, but to no avail. She would die before she allowed anyone to take her home from her; it was all she had left of her papa...well, not her real papa, but the one who had been entrusted with her care. He had been gone for almost two years now; two years but it still felt like just yesterday. Shaking her head violently, she dislodged the thoughts and instead focussed her eyes ahead of her and moved onwards, ignoring the ache that was now gnawing perceptibly at her temple.
As she neared the edge of the woods, eyes assaulted by the many bright and flickering lights of Ganesh which lay just beyond the Tunyak hills, the pain in her temple increased, becoming almost unbearable in its intensity. Dropping to her knees, she bought her hands up to cradle her head, squinting in the darkness ahead and wandering whose pain she was experiencing...and furthermore, how long she would have to endure before they sought some relief themselves. This was the curse of being both an Empath and a Healer. She bore not only her own pain and suffering, but also that of everyone else within a 2 mile radius.

Out of the sky is falling a medium blue dragon and soon Merithae appears after it. Bolts of lightning fly up at Merithae, he absorbs them and throws them back at the dragon, stunning it. Then he flys down and and slices at the beast with his double pole blade and lands on the ground, the dragon follows. The dragon fires more bolts of lightning, striking Merithae and sending him 100 meters away. Merithae is unconcious and the dragon approaches, when it is close Merithae awakens and erupts in an inferno of light. One all powerful holy bolt and the dragon erupts in flames, then turns to ash, then the ash sublimates. His arm has a huge gash. Light erupts from his hands and swarms over the wound, soon he heals his own wound. Merithae scans the area magically.
Upon detecting Myrrdyn in her current state, and determining that Quatermass' projection is causing the problem Merithae dampens the empathic link between Quatermass and Myrrhdyn. (he could have also set his special gun to "cure headache", but it's much more fun to dampen things, and he doesn't like Quatermass) Then he projects his thoughts in Quatermass' head intensifying his headache, "Endagered, and with good reason, they are of chaotic evil alignment and we High Draguns have been trying to get rid of them for ages."
Then Merithae ate an apple.

Hey, calm down a moment.. I did wonder if maybe people might use the roleplay to deal with their feelings towards other members. I am not sure what to say here as it would be a shame for the whole thing to turn into some sort of rp b*itching match. It is not really intended for people to single others out for niceness/abuse, but rather to be in the context of character. I suppose you can either fight back and do something equally nasty, in character, or simply ignore Ahayes character in favour of interracting with the other characters...which should be pretty easy to do. I have to say, I am not that enamoured of you having taken aggressive action in character, Ahayes, with no explanation or justification within the roleplay. Maybe it would be more constructive to use the roleplay to mend differences rather than to exacerbate them as it is unfair to those who wish to enjoy themselves and escape... also, please can things like this go into the questions and suggestions topic I started for this which is somewhere down the board...this just interrupts the rp. I am upset now. It was going so well.

Quatermass does have a point. (Although, with all due respect, if ahayes doesn't cooperate, please don't send the whole thread to hell. Send him to hell, I don't really care, but not the whole thread.) However, for the sake of the roleplay (because two to one there will be no editing of the orginal post):
Rain rolled her eyes. Already, there was so much conflict. With a murmured song and flip of her hand, she lessened the connection between Quatermass and Merithae. Quatermass's head would not return to normal - although, after smashing through a building, she wasn't sure if it would ever stop hurting - but the pain was reduced to a tolerable amount. It would not interfer with the connection however. Words would still pass between the two.
