I don't know how to role-play.
I mean, I read Sci-fi and Fantasy, but I've somehow missed the part of development that every other young aspiring geek seems to have gone through.

How does it work?

Make up a character...base it on people you know, and even yourself...work out what you want them to look like, how they will behave, likes, dislikes..any special gifts or abilities...and you then create your characters own story really...it is very hard to explain really. It does demand a fair amount of imagination. Think writing a story but you are the character in your own story...and there are no limits and other people can also add a chapter to your story and bring in their own characters to interract with yours.

It is really all about fantasy and escape as you can make your character be anything you want, and do anything you want(within reason...we seek to avoid x-rated lol). I am sure just reading the roleplay threads...the fantasy lands threads should give you some idea.

No character sheets, statistics, anything like that?

Nope, unless you want to do those for yourself. This is more to do with writing and imagining within your mind than card rpgs and pc rpgs. You just make the story up as you go along.
