I need cotton socks (or some other natural fiber?) Thick cushy ones. No synthetic material. The ones I see in stores are usually a synthetic blend.

Can anyone recommend a good brand, or a good website to order some from?

I posted in another thread that I can only wear cotton. However, in the case of socks I found I was continually having to throw my cotton socks away, because they were full of holes. Other than get really thick cotton socks, which I can't wear either, I had to migrate to cotton/nylon blended socks to make them last.

I buy diabetic socks. The brand doesn't seem to matter; at any rate I don't remember. The first pair i got from a friend whose diabetic mother had passed. They were new and unused. I think it might be worth trying - they're really better than anything I ever imagined and, yes, thick.

Have you tried bamboo socks? They have a lovely, silky feel. You can get extra thick ones.

Merino wool socks beat cotton socks in warmth, comfort and wicking property. I don't wear wool anything except for merino wool socks. Costco sells a bunch of ladies wool socks for very reasonable price and they're cushions at the toes and heels. Although they do have regular cuffs. If that bothers you maybe it wouldn't work. I know Smartwool socks are highly praised and much more durable, but they're expensive. I've also tried some cashmere socks before that I just adored, but of course they're even more expensive.

Socks that are made with just cotton don't hold their shape and get worn out very quickly. That's why they don't really make them any more, there's usually some stretchy material blended in at least. Otherwise the socks would keep falling down your legs.

Merino wool for me as well, REI, Costco or Smartwool. They have different thicknesses.

Also like Wright sock double layer running socks for running and summer use. They are polyester, but feel good to me.

Absolutely hate cotton socks, haven't worn them since I was a teenager.

Wigwam King cotton socks. I wear the king cotton crew with jeans, and king cotton short with shorts. Super thick sole, 95% cotton, wear like iron. I've been buying them for about 25 years. Nothing compares.

Merino wool for me all the time. Cotton socks are terrible, give me blisters and just uncomfortable as heck for any amount of walking at all. (Smart-wool or the equivalent.)

I can handle some spandex, but no polyester, nylon or acetate. That's what I meant.

I don't want socks that come up high anyway. Just some low ones to wear inside tall boots.

I have some cotton ones that have held their shape really well. But the way they are made, the inside is full of little strings. I turn them inside out but I can still feel the strings.

Patagonia has excellent, though expensive socks. Most if not all of the "outdoor catalogs" have merion wool or the smart-wool type. LlBean, Campmor, and the like.

Not sure of a specific brand but I am thinking I'd like hemp socks...I do like wool socks for winter.

I love me some Costco wool socks in the winter. :)

I don't really have any sensory issues with socks nowadays. I used to have crazy issues when I was a kid, though. There had to be enough room at the end for my big toe to separate from the nearest toe, and I also had all kinds of problems with the seam that runs over the toe area. My mom used to get so frustrated as I kept changing socks in the morning, and would refuse to wear certain pairs that I'd worn previously with no problems. Autism wasn't really known back then, so I was just a big mystery!

I have some I really like that I got at Sam's Club - they're really thick and cushy on the top and around the heel....the fabric on the top has a kind of "meshy" look and texture. I can't remember what brand they were or if they're made out of synthetic materials, tho, sorry.
