I got diagnosed with autism (11/10/ 2010)
and started researching it,
as I did not really know what autism was,
and started researching "autism women",
and I came to WP,
as WP has a women's section.
I am not English naive, but I also did research in English language.
How did you came to WP?

I don't remember exactly, I believe some staff member from my school recommended it after I was diagnosed back in like 2006.

I think I saw a reference about it in Tony Attwood's Complete Guide....

Did a search for Aspergers when I first started suspecting myself back in 2006, I believe. Joined, posted a lot for a year or so, learnt as much as I could, posted lots of topics to see if others here had the same experiences and issues then left for the best part of the last 5 years when things blew up a bit. I also never really got close to anyone here or mattered to anyone here, even after being a very avid contributor, and that made me feel a bit down.

But yeah, google search was my original source.

I Googled "Asperger's Forums."

And here I am! For better (according to some people) and for worse (according to some people)

I would leave WP if it had no kraftiekortie.

Indeed, Alex.

And, in your opinion, how has it turned out?

I lurked for awhile and then joined after having a month of severe anxiety (from August 2nd to Sept 7th) just to see if people went through the same stuff I had, and turns it others had.

I decided I finally wanted to find out why I am the way I am, and get help for some of my worse issues. I was looking at pages of psychological things that just didn't match up with what my problems were. I eventually gave up and typed in "Do you ever feel like you're on the wrong planet?". I then came here, and found what I was looking for.

I ran into a psychiatrist at a Starbucks in Seattle in 2012 and he told me I have AS and the rest is history. BTW: I joined WP after looking up AS forums on the internet.
