There is a spectrum of opinion on Autism, and the nature of the problems faced by those who have it.
Many on the Spectrum are offended by the idea of a "cure" and view Autism as a natural way of being, and a form of neurodiversity. They see many of the disabilities coming from it as being as a result of the social model of disability, and believe that rather than seeking a cure, we should be working towards Autism being more accepted and understood in society, and infrastructure being put into place to allow us equal rights (through accessibility).
This debate can get quite heated to say the least.
