2 more years for Bachelors?
I finished an Associates in Applied Sciences for Cyber Security earlier this year and I've gotten nowhere with it. Basically, there seems to be no such thing as an entry level IT Security job.
I'm reluctantly thinking of just going to a University for 2 more years to get the damn Bachelors and also use college as a shelter from having to deal with this economy. The one benefit I've had from this stupid year is realizing that Experience is King and also I need Certifications. So if I spend time in University, I will damn well spend my spare time trying to come up with Experience. Possibly, by volunteering for Open Source Linux projects.
One of my concerns is that is seems some jackasses in the early days of America decided it would be good for University students to share dorms with a roommate. In my situation, I'm 38 and starting over in life. I don't really want to be stuck in a room with a young 20 something guy.
Is this roommate thing unavoidable? Or can some older students, especially those like me who already have a 2 year Associates, just get a University apartment?

You'll just have to check with your uni on their rules. I think age probably has more to do with it than your year in school, even if their rules say that. 3 of my 4 cousins did off-campus apartments their last two years of school, as soon as they were old enough to do so by their college's rules.

That was a total non-issue for me when I transferred to university. At your age, you'll be a nontraditional student and I'm sure there would not be a requirement to live on campus. Heck, they might not let you live in a dorm because of your age.
Costs, might be another thing. Room and board on campus might be cheaper. but I kinda doubt it.
How are you planning to attack this?
Are you going to work and go to school at the same time?
Are you going to relocate or is the university you plan to attend local? If so, you could probably just keep on doing what you're doing now...
As an alternative, how hard would it be for you to shift to something like desktop support?
Those guys seem to be in demand and most of the one's I encountered only have an AAS.
