Yes, the lectures are handpicked and all the lectures are from the top 1% of highest ranked professors in their field of study.
I started with a course on Game Theory, then went with a course in argumentation and public speaking. Right now I am working through two writing courses. And I have a history one after that.
You can learn a lot from those courses. I learned more from the Great courses than I have learned at college so far. Too bad the Great Courses don't count for anything as far as anyone is concerned... meh...
