I will not qualify for SRS
My therapist and psychiatrist have been starting to pass around the 'S' word: schizophrenia. After last year's denial of surgery, in which I got my hopes up because I didn't have access to the actual plan contract, the "Evidence of Coverage," my ability to function has been smashed.
I may get on Medicare after 2 years of being on SSDI: October 2016, but I doubt they'd approve the funding for my SRS.

Sorry, but as an Aspie I find it hard to show any empathy or sympathy. I held down three part-time jobs and became a social recluse for two years to pay for mine in Thailand.

I can no longer work and I'm on SSDI and LTD from my job. It would probably anger you if I were to get SRS without, from now, holding down 3 part-time jobs at the same time and continuing being a recluse for at least 2 years.
After all, you wouldn't want anybody to have it easier than you, even not knowing the person's situation.
For you, you would be glad if I went my whole life without SRS. After all, I'm just some lazy bum receiving government handouts. Were I capable of crying, you would desire to lick my tears.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. At the time I had been on a disability pension with clinical depression for four years, and was aged sixty. If you want something badly enough then you will find ways.

PS. Used to get a phone call most evenings from a Samaritans group to check I was still alive.

Negative. More an aspect of being a different generation. A generation that believed that anything and everything is possible, and sitting around whinging about some issue will do little to relieve it. Sorry, not a victim and never will be.

PS: "Theory Of Other Minds" sound like so called social "sciences" BS. A real science - no way. Either that or psycho babble.

I don't believe that's true. In fact, most jobs I have never been able to perform well, except for call center jobs in the past (because everything is well-defined in those jobs). But because of problems with emotional instability, concentration, paranoia, and other oddities of thought, I've lost my ability to perform and attend consistently, which has been well-documented. It's not just some vague depression that is keeping me from work.
When I could work, I could barely stand working 40 hours a week, but now my ability to work is so much less. Your idea sounds nice on paper, and has apparently worked for you, but it would not work for me.
Please let me be. There is nothing further you can say that can be helpful. DO NOT pretend you know better than my mental health professionals and I and say that I could really work 3 jobs over a 2-year period and blame me for just having a bad attitude (implying that I deserve the negative outcome). That would make you an ass hole and I would report you to the board staff for that.
I've dealt with your kind a lot, but you have to realize that some people have real limitations.

I would suggest that you are extremely naive if you think any reputable surgeon would carry out SRS/GRS on someone who apparently lacks the capability of giving "informed consent". Ten to fifteen years ago the Thai surgeons required letters from at last two psychiatrists before they would even add a person to their list. Also requiring supporting documentation that the individual had lived in their adopted gender for a number of years.
There are numerous cases of individuals having gender reassignment surgery and then after a few years suing the surgeon for millions in damages as they didn't consider themselves to have had the mental capacity to understand what they were undertaking at the time.

Whoever said I would've expected to receive it by this point?

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to prohibit change of the sex designation of non-intersex persons and to prohibit funding or requirement of funding for sex transformation for the same persons.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by conventions in three-fourths of the several States, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:
``Article--
``Section 1. A person who is born with external genitalia that is unambiguously male or female shall therefrom be recorded as respectively male or female, regardless of any sex transformation undergone during the course of the same person's life; the same person shall not be considered intersex for any purpose. Intersex persons shall have their sexes recorded as legally and medically appropriate.
``Section 2. For purposes of placement in prisons, schools, hospitals, bathrooms, and all other areas segregated by sex for the purposes of privacy, each person shall be considered of the recorded sex as specified in the first section of this article and placed accordingly.
``Section 3. No public funds shall be appropriated for sex transformation of non-intersex persons, neither shall law or regulation require for the same the provision of funds by corporations or private businesses or persons, except insofar as to enforce legal contracts between non-governmental parties.
``Section 4. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."
Unbelievable. You apparently don't qualify for SRS because of your mental instability, so you are proposing that no one should be entitled to it. What a truly sad person and quite scary. The men in white coats will be around for you any day now.

I qualified a year ago and had two mental health professionals' letters. Unfortunately, the SPD omitted an exclusion that the Evidence of Coverage had: SRS. That is why my mind began to fall apart. I lost my ability to work.
Now, SRS cannot possibly help me.
Because of the nastiness you've displayed in my thread, such as saying you lack any empathy or sympathy for me, I am beginning to wonder about the trans cult. I have become much more interested in gender criticism lately, and it has made for refreshing reading. It's a lot better than reading over and over again the diatribes people in the trans community make, when the community doesn't lift a finger to help its members find a better place.
Indeed, I have come to question the legitimacy of these treatments, wondering if the reference texts, the major health organizations' statements, and other pro-transition professional statements were all politically influenced and controlled by a cult-like trans community that will not stand for dissension:
