Do you ever wonder if people on WP are secretly people you know in real life? Or other sites? I'm not saying that I trust it, but I was just thinking...

You never know....but I believe the likelihood of one having known somebody on WP before one went on WP is pretty miniscule.

That would be cool, though!

Sometimes, but I doubt there is anyone I know here.

I wonder sometimes, but am always proven wrong thus far. Other people, I wouldn't know enough about them IRL to identify them on WP.

I know a fair amount of people IRL who are either on the spectrum or have family members on the spectrum. I don't know if they know about WP. But I'd be letting myself out of hiding if, IRL, I suggested they join...

I'm a bit paranoid about it although I don't think anyone on WP is someone I know in real life. For that reason I never mention on WP some of my personal info that could give a clue to who I am.

I don't know anyone IRL who is known to be autistic but you never know who might use WP for whatever reason.

There's always a possibility.

What if people are here are the animals from the video game series Animal Crossing???

No, never crossed my mind. Nobody I know knows I'm on here, and I doubt they're bored enough for a scheme like that.

Not unless they've come across my bedroom in the last 20 years or so.

Yes, k do think I might have met some wp'rs IRL but have never spent much time with them. Just in passing.

There's more chance of that ^ than of them being people I know irl.

Sometimes I think there might be people I know here on WP but most of the time I think its unlikely to be true.

Someone on WP once bumped into on youtube.

I don't care whether I know them or not.

What matters to me isn't the identity of the poster, but the content of their posts.

I sometimes wonder if any of my old schoolmates have lurked here and if any of them have signed up here or just lurked.

Yes, I often wonder if someone I'm related to could be here, like my own brother. He doesn't have AS, but he suffers from depression and low self-esteem, and he spends a lot of time on the internet. He might have found this site and thought it might be a comfortable place for him to share his feelings, none the wiser that his own sister is also on here.
It would be funny if my brother was here and he posted something like ''I have an annoying younger sister...'' and I replied with sympathy saying ''I have a depressing older brother...''

Unless you tell others that you use WP, you never know if you are sharing this site with your own friends or relatives! Think next time you badmouth or complain about your friends or relatives on WP, and also think when reading a post about someone badmouthing or complaining about a friend or relative with AS/Autism...it could be your own friend or relative talking about you...

OK I don't mean all that in a serious/offensive way. It's just something that sometimes crosses my mind.
