Depends, are you the type to cling to bad idea's and mental mindsets? Are you unlikely to learn? If not...then hell yeah it gets better. Here's my life trajectory.

Teens - sucked dogs balls
Twenties - slightly better due to own $$$ but still sucking like an Electrolux
Thirties - More confidence, skill and therefore freedom. Took a 3yr long gap year and travelled it was awesome.
Fourties - LIking it so far, perspective is a wonderful thing. Finally got my s**t together enough to kick the worst of it to the curb. It's still a work in progress but progress is finally happening. I get my low moments but they are thankfully fewer and far less harrowing then before.

Life does get better, especially if you learn from your experiences.

REAL DEPRESSION = NEEDS MEDICINE TO BE CURED :) ( ANTI DEPRESSANT )
FAKE DEPRESSION = LAST FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT IS REAL AS WELL :)

I was fully convinced when they started with the real depression can only be treated with pills.

Meds don't 'cure' depression they decrease the symptoms, well are supposed to but of course some people get side effects that outweigh benefits or worsening symptoms.

And I think I'd rather risk the demon attack than do that ridiculous ritual.

Excuse me, miss, but until you pour holy water on yourself and have jesus magically fend off the invisible demons you have no right to call him a troll. For all you know, the cure for depression is right in front of you.

Sure will, if you're willing to put forth the effort into removing the things from your life that make you feel depressed.

Some things get better. Somethings stay the same. A few things get worse.

But overall, I'd say things have gotten better for me. As other's have mentioned, if you learn from your experiences, you'll find ways to solve problems and you'll build a tool set for dealing with life's frustrations.

As I get older, I care less about what people think. I still care somewhat, but it bothers me less. Also I have a better idea of what I want out of life and what I don't want. This knowledge help me make better choices.

One thing that has stayed the same is my tendency to keep to myself. Because I rarely socialize, i have ended up living alone for the past 20 years. Not that this is bad, but it does have its down sides. It also has its advantages so I can't complain too much.

The things that get worse are the sort of thing that gets worse for everyone. It takes longer for me to recover from an injury. My joints hurt more than they used to. I yell at children to "get off my lawn" and I don't even have a lawn.

I guess a good approach is to look at life as a problem to solve.
