I hope this is the appropriate place to post this. I have to sleep with music playing, and if it stops I will either wake up or my dreams will get really weird. I'd like to listen to Pandora at night, but it stops playing after about an hour. I really don't feel like having to wake up on the hour to get my music playing again. Is there a way to get Pandora to play all night without crapping out, or do you guys know of a music service that won't die on me after a few hours? I don't really want to do the obvious thing and listen to the radio because I have unique tastes in music, and we only have one good radio station here, but even it doesn't play exactly what I like at times. I have a few radio stations I listen to online, my favorite being Radio na Gaeltachta out of Ireland which broadcasts in Irish Gaelic. I really like them, and their stream plays all night for the most part, but sometimes their stream has been known to crap out as well. They don't do it deliberately as Pandora and Serious XM do, but I guess sometimes either they are having technical difficulty or my Comcast is being stupid. For those who are curious, here's a link to Radio na Gaeltachta.

For some reason it takes forever to load on my laptop.

Do you have the paid version of Pandora? I think they don't have a timeout timer but I'm not sure. As for SiriusXM, if you have a receiver for your house it'll play all night long. The Internet SiriusXM does have an inactivity timer. There used to be a program that worked to overcome that timer but the SiriusXM software has since been upgraded and the program no longer works.
Hope you find some all night music soon.

I have not subscribed to the paid version as I don't mind the ads. Right now my finances are on the fritz due to winter and electric bills going through the roof, but I'm considering getting the subscription. If it will play all night I would definitely consider it.

I used to have XM, but when my receiver conked out I didn't get another one and just subscribed online. Their player is very inaccessible for the blind, so I'm not sure if I'll subscribe to them again. RnaG mostly plays, it's just annoying when the stream goes dead. I guess any stream could have that problem though. It played all night last night thankfully. The annoying thing about RnaG is that they have a lot of talk programs in addition to their music. Nothing like waking up to a guy speaking Gaelic at warp speed.

if you have a TV.... you might want to check out the Music Choice website. for me, they start at Channel 500. there is one for EVERY genre of music. they are 24/7 and only go out when the power goes out in your area...or if you have a shut off timer on your tv (but that can be changed in the settings).

That's a great idea! Yes, I agree.

I have the paid version of Pandora, it plays most of the night, about 6 hours I think. When it stops it displays a message asking if you are still listening at which point you can restart it.

The app on the iPhone/iPad has a sleep timer also, so you can set it to go off when you want.

Well you could download music on your computer....and put whatever music you have to play all night on whatever music playing software you have. Or I like last.fm if you don't mind the occasional ad, it usually keeps going unless you actively stop it but sometimes the flash player or whatever will stop working which can interfere.

Pandora One is the best thing I've ever paid for.
