I can't say I'll miss IE. That being said, if they choose to build a new engine for it that's fine with me, though I I hope that they choose to use Blink, over Webkit, or Gecko.

As a longtime Mozillan & current Microsoft contractor I'm delighted about this. Everyone I discussed it with at work was happy too, although there's some uncertainty about Spartan poking holes in our workflows...

the new "reading list" feature which saves articles for offline reading, something i could make good use of.

to me, the old monochrome IE logos were an eyesore.

IE was a piece of crap. The unsatisfaction of it caused me to move to Mozillas Firefox.

Hope the phase-out with "Internet Explorer" is gradual; as many people don't update their systems too often!

LOL I was thinking the same thing! Although I suppose you could use command line ftp if you knew an ftp site to start with (I could drop the install for FF in my website).
