What are your weird, arcane, obsessive, or limited interests? You must know what I'm talking about. Those interests you're REALLY into and other people find it difficult to understand what's so fascinating. I'm curious to see the sorts of things others here are into, the things that fire your brains up and make you feel like chattering like there's no tomorrow.

Feel free to get as excited/impassioned as you want. Sometimes it's those interests that make the difficulties of life worthwhile, IMO.

I might share my own interests in here later if I remember (and if this thread is even noticed); I'll refrain from going first, so the thread is not all about me.

I used to be fascinated with animals and nature as a child. now I'm obsessed with the passage of time. when I read a book/watch a movie, it's morning, then noon, then evening, seasons changing, people growing older, plants growing taller, etc.

Also I want to know what people would do if they could get away with. if they were sure one hundred percent if they stole from the store or beat up their neighbor, they will definitely not go to jail for this and no one would know, would they do it? if everyone bullied someone, would they join if they were sure they won't lose their job and nothing will happen? I think about it obsessively every time I talk to someone, see someone, just being around people. it frustrates me to no end that I'll never know.

Not that I suggest it's a good idea to give people the power to do this. it'd be a horrible idea. but I'd like to know without anyone getting hurt. a safe way to find out if there was one.

I was obsessed with danger as a teen and actually enjoyed being in dangerous situations.

My lifelong obsession since age 15 has been Dungeons & Dragons. I think of everything in reality as having something to do with D&D. Luckily this obsession is shared by lots of other people, so it doesn't make me look as weird as I would otherwise look (just nerdy). I have been obsessed with D&D for *30 years* and it's still showing no signs of wearing off whatsoever.

Pathology. Most of my classmates are disgusted by diseases (even my classmates in my biology class). I like reading about pathology and diseases (symptoms, effects, causes, treatment etc) in my spare time.

I was once explaining the Ebola virus to my grandmother and ending up going on and on. She couldn't get a word in edgeways.

Second obsession is comics. Right now, I'm obsessed with a complete comic series and I've read it about five or six times over but I love it so much. One of my friends might have ASD and he's obsessed with comics too so we always end up discussing our favourite comics or comics in general.

I have a huge comic collection (most of which I've read) and most of my comics are at my bedroom in school.

Years ago I had a slight obsession with household pests, like cockroaches, silverfish, etc etc. I would talk about them when we had company, finally clued in that no one really shared the fascination.

I quit having obsessive interests when I started taking medication for my OCD. The one interest I had that was weird was I had a mega HUGE crush obsession on the iCarly star, Miranda Cosgrove. I kind of quit crushing on her when I got a girlfriend but I fell madly in love with her before I got my girlfriend & I still love Miranda. I think it may of developed into kind of a delusional disorder & I take an antipsychotic for it.

Miranda Cosgrove is cute. There's something about her. Not sure if it's a shyness or what. But it makes her relatable to me. She's cool in my book.

I like a lot of actresses but haven't had a big obsession in a while. I don't re-watch movies and shows very much either. I prefer trying a lot of movies. Searching for hidden gems. For me it feels pretty groovy when I end up loving a movie that's off most people's radar... or a movie I know they wouldn't like, but I do. Then it's like it was made for me.

I am fascinated with killers and criminals. My dream is to join the FBI. I often talk about serial killers and murder cases which makes others think I'm creepy.

I was similarly obsessed with musicals (not necessarily Annie) and Punky Brewster... I still use the latter to connect with people. When playing truth/lie icebreaker games, I always use my "encyclopedic knowledge of Punky Brewster" as my truth. Other shows I'm obsessed with: The Office, The X-Files, How I Met Your Mother and The Wonder Years.

I'm also obsessed with human behavior and particularly ASD, but I work as a clinician for kids on the spectrum, so it's not particularly weird. It's worked out quite well.

I'm very obsessed with the history of the Titanic, so that's probably the weirdest one.

Video games is my number 1 thing and most of what I do.

Anime conventions and cosplay is number 2. Travelling goes along with that, I like travelling. Specifically if it means going to the south, I dont want to go north if I dont have to.

Computers also, even though half of that obsession seems to just involve me yelling at them. Clearly, that fixes many problems.

Animals, very good with animals.

I also tend to get *really* fixated on specific characters from favorite games, anime series, or manga.
