- What does signature mean/would I be posting anonymously without it?

- How do I know if a reply to a thread I've started is a reply to my original post or a reply to a reply?

- (Add a poll): How specifically does that play out, i.e. notification on my profile page, in the forum, what?

- What's the deal with the symbols to the left of the subject line?

-Some people's little identification box tells their age and gender and what not, how'd they do that? What does it indicate that they did?

- If you could give me three warnings about how to engage this site's forums, and forums in general, WWTB?

- If you could give me three pieces of advice about how to engage this site's forum, and forums in general, WWTB?

- I don't even know enough to guess how much I still need to learn about how all this works. A little help please!

- Also, what does the "button" with the PM at the bottom of each post do/stand for?

It's not necessary, it's just for a little saying, advice or piece of information you might want to appear at the bottom of your every post. Whether you use it or not, you are posting just as anonymously as the rest of us; none of us know anything about each other besides our usernames, what's in our profiles, and what we say on the threads.

Most replies are probably a reply to you (if you started the thread). When people want to reply to someone else, they usually quote the person they are replying to by clicking the little box that says "quote" at the top right corner of every post. If they don't, you can tell by what they say in their post (if it has nothing to do with what you said, they are probably talking about/to someone else).

The poll and the number and percentage of votes appears at the top of the thread. You don't get any notification when people vote in the poll. You will have to keep coming back to the thread to see the results as more people vote.

They allow you to add a video or picture to your post, make your text bold, in italics or other effects. Mouse over each one and a tiny text box should appear that says what it does.

They filled out their profiles. You can too by clicking "My Account" at the top right of any page of the WP forum.

1. Post in the Haven sub-forum if you feel sad or vulnerable so people know not to make mean comments.
2. Read the rules.
3. Before you post in Politics, Philosophy and Religion or Love and Dating sub-forums, know what they are like and what kind of response to your post to expect.

1. Read a few threads and get a feel for how other people behave.
2. Don't feel like people hate you just because they don't reply to some of your posts. People don't know what to say sometimes.
3. Be honest. With other posters as well as yourself.

It's not that complicated. You don't have to put a bunch of pictures and videos and smilies in your post if you don't know how yet; just type text. You don't have to fill out your profile. Don't say nasty things or insult people, and try to post in the sub-forum that matches your topic.

Private Message. It lets you send a message to the person who made that post.
