I know it's really out of season, but...

Listen, I like Xmas as much as the next person, but the songs are incredibly obnoxious. In fact, one of the main things that I dread about the holidays are the annoying carols.

The secular ones are typically the worst, especially ¨Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer¨, ¨Santa Claus is Coming To Town¨, and any carol written by either a former Beatle or the Beach Boys.

I will give the religious the slight edge of tradition, but in my mind, ¨Silent Night¨ was only good when my beloved S&G took it on. :D

Fine, I will make an exception for ¨Good King Wenceslas¨.

So, does anyone else despise these songs, or are some of you big fans?

I can think of one I dislike "Jingle Bells" and other snow songs mainly because its summer during Christmas time here and its silly for people to be singing snow songs on a stinking hot day.

I get tired of em too sense a buch of different singers all cover the same songs because they're to lazy to come up with an original xMas song. I love parodies of em thou like Santa's Whore is Coming to Town & Frosty the Pervert.

I like a variety of religious Christmas Carols. I feel that many are excellent compositions and have a "power" to them. For instance, "Coventry Carol", when sung well, gives me goosebumps. Secular Christmas songs are not as good but vary. A popular one, more modern than most, that I cannot stand is "All I Want For Christmas is You". When there is a pure faith behind something well written it can shine forth better than a silly or generic song.
