New girl here!
Hi!
I apologize in advance for my poor English.
I'm a 19 year old girl from Iran. I got diagnosed a few months back. I study software engineering and have just gotten a job at a programming company. I have severe social anxiety and an avoident personality disorder plus my AS, to the point that things like shopping , talking on the phone , asking for help etc. are real torture to me, though I'm getting better with practice and meditation. I'm a little ADD too.
When I'm alone or in nature I'm very happy. but as soon as I have to socialize I become very anxious, because I don't understand what I am suppose to do or say.
I have been quite successful academically, always being the top student in class. I've had have usually one or two friends ( not close friends) at a time but I can't handle more than that. In class usually I'm on good terms with everyone but it takes me forever (if ever) to recognize my classmates or learn their names which can be pretty embarrassing.
I almost always wear the same clothes, have the same food, take the same paths. and I have no sense of directions what so ever. I've been getting constantly lost since I was little. I have a very slow if at all response to the outside world ( actually most times I'm oblivious to it) and absolutely no sense of danger which scares my family to death. I almost got kidnapped the other day and I wasn't fazed by it at all which scared the hell out of my mom.
I love arts, designing ,drawing, creation and originality, and I used to have a lot of it when I was little but I feel I am losing them as I don't have any time or money to spend on my artistic interests.
I'm a bookworm and I love novels the best because like movies and tv they help me see and understand other people, their feelings and thoughts and the outside world better. actually that's were I've gotten all my knowledge of society from, as I'm very isolated and unaware of the real world. I spend most of my time in front of my computer or tv.
I have the worst memory of all people. short and longterm. As I can't even remember my special interests without thinking very hard . which is greatly because of my anxiety level and lack of sleep.
My greatest wish is for all beings to become liberated and be peaceful and happy. and I wish to do something to help it starting by myself.
Ok enough ranting about me.
here's a couple of pictures of me:

Hello,
Welcome to WP.
I want to ask you a question, I am not trying to be inflamatory or accusatory, I just want an honest opinion of someone living in Iran.
You seem to be intelligent and well spoken so I would value your opinion over an uneducated NT.
What is your opinion of your President?
Do you think he is on the way to getting Iran into a war over the whole nuclear arms thing?
I am curious because I am an American working in Baghdad and I really do not want this conflict to spread. The people of Iran do not need the horrors happening here to happen there.
(Please note, I am not trying to antagonize, I am just curious, I stay on a base and have almost no interaction with the Iraquis)
Are there growing tensions amount the Sunnis and Shi'ite's in your country?
Thank you for your time in answering me. Thank you for joining, I am new here too and still learning more about Asperger's everyday.
Later,
crazedchef
Thanks for the welcome!

I think he's a very stupid, dogmatic and dangerous man. most people I know despise him. people make daily jokes about him because they can't do anything else. he is embarrassing us in the world constantly and things are getting really bad here at home , like economy and such. I don't know if you know this or not,but he cheated in the elections. and he's losing those few friends and followers he had. even they are tired of his constant idiocy and crap and the fact that he doesn't seem to ever shut up with the nuclear crap. we're hoping the parliament takes him down if he continues acting this way or else he's going to cost us dearly.
We are hoping and praying that a war doesn't happen. people are very scared. We don't want our beautiful country to end up like iraq. we are still recovering from the 8 year war with saddam.
there isn't any sunnis and shias fighting as far as I know, well mostly because 90% of the country is shia and at peace with the minorities.
Ask away if you want to know more!

Hello,
Thank you, thank you
There is hope for the Middle East and for Muslims if there are people like you over here.
Please if you could briefly explain:
I am here in the middle of this and I still don't understand: Why do Sunni's and Shi'ite dislike each other so much?
I have read different explanations online, but none of them made sense. I still cannot believe people are being drup out of their homes in the middle of the night and are being TORTURED to DEATH, just for being a Sunni or a Shi'ite!! They are all Iraqui's and they are all Muslims!! ! WTF!!
I wish there were more Aspies here because we look at things differently without so much emotion involved. They are all from the same country and they are all the same religion, it just does not compute why they hate, hate, hate. If I lost my job tomorrow because unilateral peace broke out I would rejoice! I feel so bad for these people, and yet, they are bringing all of this pain and destruction on themselves.
Enough prostylzing, sorry did not mean to go on like that.
thank you once again,
crazedchef
Hello again,
I almost forgot about your answer about your president.
Your answer reminded me of someone who talked about going to America and being surprised by how nice the people were when he was expecting the worst because of our President.
He said "It is easy to forget that the Leaders do not necessarily represent the people."
I dislike Hugo Chaves of Venezuala, I think he is a moron, but I do not dislike the Venezuelan people. They just want ot go to work, make money, pay their bills, raise their family. I remember him embracing your President and thinking "Birds of a feather, flock together."
Leaders are the ones who start wars.

Hello M_LibertyGirl!
Your description made me smile, firstly because I recognise quite a few of your character traits (the social anxiety, telephone avoidance and poor memory especially), and also for the modest way in which you describe being top of each class as "quite" succesful
Crazedchef, what do you think of your leader? Undemocratically elected, and living in the pocket of corrupt businessmen. Supports terror all round the globe. Refuses to recognise the environmental threats facing our planet (America and China being by far the worst nations in terms of pollution). Sends soldiers out to Iraq to fight a war on terror by attacking the very people he allegedly set out to save (from a murderous leader armed and installed with American assistance) whilst starving them with a trade embargo, ensuring that nearly all reconstruction work can only be carried out by American companies (so all the money can go straight back home), and forbidding the Iraqis from repaying their national debt which is running at 8% compound interest. Oh, and billing the Iraqi people for the cost of the wars which have wrecked their country. Are the Americans going to consider a regime change at any stage? In terms of dangerous morons he's fairly close to the top of my list - though admittedly our Mr Blair isn't exactly helping.

Hello,
I am asking this girl from Iran questions on what she thinks. She is virtually right next door.
SOCIABLE HERMIT:
Why should I answer your question when you seem to want to answer for me?
I am not going to get into a debate with you on politics. I will sorta agree with one thing: I truly believe that EVERY MULTI NATIONAL CORPORATION ON THE PLANET IS MORE CONCERNED WITH PROFITS THAN WITH PEOPLE.
In my 20 months over here I have been able to do a little traveling. Whenever I run into a British person in a bar now, I go the other way. I am not saying all British are like this, but the ones I have had the displeasure of running into were way too drunk and always looking for a fight. Life is too short to always be looking for a fight.
crazedchef
Well, I'm not drunk, and I'm not looking for a fight with you. I was trying to put across known facts rather than emotions. I agree with one of your earlier posts about leaders often being far removed from the people they claim to represent. Americans as individuals always seem to be really great people, but official US foreign policy sucks. It just amazes me that the American people put up with all this nonsense, in the same way that the politics of my own country amaze me also.
Extremism of any form is a menace. I'm not going to stand up for Mugabe or Sharon or Saddam Hussein any more than I would support Bush or Blair. What I'm saying is, if you can look at Iran and publicly question its leadership, why not apply the same logic to the Presidency of the USA, which is equally flawed and potentially far more dangerous?

Welcome to WP... and I might I say you look very cute
Despite what the media says, Muslims aren't as bad as people think they are... only the extremists cause the trouble. But you have to remember that there is extremists in most religions, especially in Christianity, who set up "Jesus Camps" to brainwash their children to become "warriors of god". These people are the same kind of people that think Islam is the "evil" religion... talk about shooting themselves in the foot with a loaded gun of irony eh?
