Looks unbearably cool to me....

I love the voice changer for Batman. It's much better than the ridiculous growling Bale did in the Nolan films. It's really the only thing to do if Kevin Conroy isn't doing the voice.

Tell me, do you bleed?

...you will.

I think Affleck looks great in costume--very massive and Milleresque.

Damn, I cannot wait for this.

I'm looking forward to this too! At first, like many Batman fans, I was skeptical of Affleck being cast as Batman, but after seeing him in the trailer, I think he can pull the role off just fine.

I really like the tone of the trailer and the themes it brings up...

It seems like most of what's happening is a direct result of all that destruction at the end of MoS.

Half the people see Supes as an Earth-bound god and the other half see him as this extremely powerful, unpredictable and dangerous alien.

This is what I was hoping they'd do. It's a lot like the end of STAS. After the big battle with the armies of Apokolips on Earth, Star Labs, the Army, and Lex Luthor start Project Cadmus as a way to neutralize Superman and the other meta-humans/superheroes.

I hope we get something like that here. I think there's going to be an alliance between Batman/Wayne Enterprises, LexCorp, and A.R.G.U.S. against Superman. I'm betting they end up synthesizing Kryptonite (from the wreckage of the world engine) and maybe even coming up with a version of Doomsday (from General Zod's dna)...

Of course, that's all fan w*king, but I do like the way they seem to be going here.
:nerdy:

I seem to be the first dissenting opinion. I found it has too much CGI and the cinematography makes me think of a flashy music video. I find Snyder to be a terrible director honestly. I think Watchmen is the only good film has under his belt. Man of Steel was one of the worst films that year and it feels overall like those involved in the attempt to build a DC Cinematic Universe are clueless. I also think the film is taking too many cues from The Dark Knight Returns. That was a story designed to be an ending, not a beginning. Am quite sick of the dark, gritty trend which has been fashionable in the actual comics. Not everything has to be edgy. It feel like the essence of what makes these characters does not always carry over into adaptions. In contrast, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done a lot right. The new preview for Star Wars Ep VII is the trailer that has my interest. It was nice seeing practical effects rather than lazy CGI for EVERYTHING.

^^^ I understand your reservations about the movie....

At least we can agree that Snyder did a good job on Watchmen.

However, I am a bit surprised that you like Watchmen considering your feelings about Man of Steel and this new movie, because Watchmen has had much greater influence on both films than any of Miller's work.

At its core, Watchmen is about the consequences of masked heroes and super-beings in a more realistic world. Likewise, Man of Steel is about the consequences of human society dealing with the knowledge that we are not alone, and that the universe is a very scary and dangerous place, in addition to the consequences of having a person with godlike powers living among us...

The characters in Watchmen are really pastiches of other characters that DC simply wouldn't let Moore use. Rorschach=The Question, Night Owl=The Blue Beetle, Silk Spectre=Black Canary and.... wait for it.....

....Ozymandias=Batman (remember, Ozzy is a man who has TRAINED himself up to the peak of human mental and physical perfection) and Dr. Manhattan=Superman in that both have these impossibly godlike abilities.

So, in a sense, Watchmen really acts as a proto-Batman v Superman story.

Concerning the new film, I do hope they can crack a joke or two in between all the grim and gritty philosophical what-if-ings.

But, the sociologist-comic-nerd in me does like the what-if-ings more....

That's just me. Some people juggle geese.
:D
