Asked for math books for my birthday.Wanna move on to calculus afterwards.

algebra and trig. are suitable for auto-didaction at your level, some find calc. a bit harder that way

anyway good for you...Maths is awesome!

You might find this interesting, Khan Academy is a free website that has courses in mathematics but also in many other subjects, from primary school to college level: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khan_Academy

For trig I recommend "Pre-Calculus with Unit Circle Trigonometry" by David Cohen. I learned from the 3rd edition but newer editions are probably just as good.

There are two algebra courses that should preceed that book. Beginning Algebra and intermediate algebra.
I believe for one of the classes we used a book by Elayn Martin-Gay.
