Personally I love the fixed camera angles of the old games, the puzzles (I know they are not super hard puzzles but even still), The fear that your running low on shotgun ammo. The newer ones just seem like call of duty, shoot everything and collect ammo of the bodies.

I understand why they moved over to the new style, the times change, that's what (most of) the new generation prefer now. I just wish they would remake 2 and 3 to HD like the recently ported REmake a Ported 0 would be nice too.

I will admit I enjoyed 4, it was a fun game the first play through had some tense moments but after that even when playing on hard and beyond it wasn't the same.

What do you think about the newer versions of RE, whats your favorite?

I like the old ones.
Resident evil 2 and 4 are my favorites but I can't stand the newest ones because they can be classified as anything, just not as survivor horror.
But yeah, I can see why they've changed too. What I think is funny is that I always see A LOT of people complaining everywhere about how the RE games have been losing so much quality on the latest entries but yesterday I saw an article showing that both resident evil 5 and 6 are still selling really well. Huh, I can't understand todays gaming world.

I like watching the old games...actually, anything before 6 is unplayable or me as I can't do the "tank" controls. I loved 6 though, except for the usual complaints of bullet sponge enemies and annoying setpiece moments ( the snowmobile sequence in Jake's campaign in particular ) and Revelations HD except the final boss ( I hate teleporting enemeis ). I haven't played them yet, but I can't wait to get RE remake remaster and Revelations 2

Resident Evil 1, 2, and even 3 are great games in their way. Resident Evil 4 looks fun but for some reason I can never bring myself to play it. The other ones don't even look fun. Definitely a transition from "survival" to "combat".

I liked 4 a lot on the Wii, being able to use the Wiimote to aim was great. Haven't played 5 or 6, I heard they weren't very good. I have Revelations, but haven't gotten very far. Ditto to Zero on the GameCube, I need to beat that one so I can play Umbrella Chronicles without spoilers =|

I've beaten the DS version of the first game, and half of the DC version on the PSX (Jill, I think? The pre-Dual Shock version with the original soundtrack). Wish they had released it on the Dreamcast, because 2 and 3 on there were awesome.

Code Veronica was alright, but I wish I'd played it before Nemesis (as the creators intended), because it wasn't as good. I have the updated version on the GameCube, but haven't tried it yet. I'll have to use a walkthrough when I do, because I really hated when my character was carrying all of the good items, and then the game would unexpectedly make me switch to the other character (who didn't have much).

I liked that gun game that was on the PSX, too, I think it was called Survivor.

I like Resident Evil 4 and 5, but I really don't like Nemesis. The controls are hard to get used to compared to 4 and 5.
