If you want to be cured or treated, it would be nice but not recommended to state why.
I put "content" but that's not really hitting the mark for me.
What I would like is less discrimination and more understanding. The world as we know it is shaped to fit a certain kind of person and whether your autistic or not, if you don't fit the mold, you can't participate in life [quite literally]. You can be "alive" but you can't live as most of the "in crowd" lives.
This challenge is heightened with people with autism/aspurgers because they REALLY don't fit the box and therefore they are subject to that much more mistreatment.
I don't think mild autism/aspurgers really should be labelled as a "mental illness" or even a "mental hurdle" because that places the assumption that people are the problem, and not our world as we know it.

So I guess in simple terms, I don't want to be cured because I highly doubt there is really anything that "should" be cured.
I very much agree with what you say here, Chris71186.
I also put content. It's not my Asperger's I want cured, I like who I am. I wanna be who I am. I like being someone who treasures their interests and love their activities for their own sake and not for any togetherness it can bring with other people.
I wouldn't wanna be like NTs for anything; I would lose myself and most things I value in me.
What I want changed in regards to AS is the lack of acceptance out there.
What I want cured is my asthma, my allergies, and a couple of other medical problems; things that are bothersome in my life because of their own qualities.
Tony Attwood really does have it pretty nailed when he says that we don't suffer from Asperger's, we suffer from other people.
