What are your thoughts on medical/legal marijuana
In some states, patients have access to medical marijuana of which they can pick up in edibles or smoked/vaporized via a variety of devices. To take this further, some states such as Colorado have decriminalized the use of weed entirely/and you are allowed to grow and buy the product at what is called dispensaries.
If we step back and look at the tone of the subject matter at hand, we see a pattern were the people of America have become more accepting of the plant in the recent decade. The plant, be it Cannabis.Sativa/Indica was, quite honestly. Illegalized due to it's threat on the fabric industry since hemp was a cheaper and stronger product. The deep pockets of the state and federal government, started a racist and propaganda machine of which we all know made ownership of cannabis illegal. (one just has to look at alcohol prohibition to see this was a bad idea)
Now, to take this question a bit further, and somewhat more relevant, do you think Marijuana would be beneficial to users with autism/aspergers.
In my opinion, I started smoking when I was 15. It was a social enhancer. I would bring a few joints, go hiking in the woods with my friends. Smoke a few, enjoy the beautiful outdoors. It was a bonding experience. On the other side of the coin however. The older I got, the less I smoked. I am now 27, when I smoke. Because I have a low tolerance nowadays mind you. I get quiet, I turn into a introvert. I have not smoked in about a year. But, if I ever did. It would just be like a sedative before bed, a relaxer if you will. Maybe a game of Call Of Duty or Smash Bros.
So, what are your thoughts?

If you could maybe clarify a few points. What aspect did you find helpful and how did you use those aspects in your social surroundings?
And what effects besides the euphoria did it have on you?
Thanks so much again! For responding!
Americas war on drugs is a huge assault on its own people's individual freedom... IMO. Drug laws don't even work and they're responsible for creating the black market that violent criminals depend on to pedal their drugs.
So yeah it's all a big joke and it's at our expense. Our economy could use the boost we would see from taxing marijuana sales. Also Think off the innocent lives that would be restored if we freed all nonviolent drug offenders...
If drugs were decriminalized, how many people would no longer hesitate to call for help when their friend overdoses on heroin, out of fear of prosecution? How many people would avoid contacting AIDS from using dirty syringes, if there's an ample amount needle exchange clinics? How many lives would be saved? The numbers are too big to fathom.
Sorry I went off topic a little bit there. In regards to marijuana and autism... I love to smoke don't get me wrong, but I also feel like makes me even more introverted. I become even more content/focused on my own thoughts and struggle even more to get them out and fit them into the social structure around me.
BUT it is by far the best damn medicine for my insomnia! I wish I could smoke every night before bed, I'll fall asleep within half an hour. The Only time my sleep patterns were regular were when I had my own place and could smoke as much as I wanted at night....
Useless for social settings though, kinda sucks cause that's my hardest department. But there's other things that make that a breeze as well

Legalize it baby. Or whatever, decriminalize it at minimum.
I understand that people have strong opinions on this, but for real I just don't see it. I'm not an "active" pot smoker, but I've smoked a mother load in the past and in any case I see no problem whatsoever with people smoking a bowl on weekends.
The idea of a 22 year old kid having his life ruined for getting pinched with an eighth in his pocket makes me sick, why specifically does anyone care?
I'm fully open to being convinced otherwise, but I don't see one single way that pot could be inherently worse than alcohol as a regulated substance.

Well I seem to have kind of chronic digestive/bowel discomfort especially in the morning when I get up...trying to improve my diet and started taking vitamins to hopefully help but in the mean time cannabis does help relieve that. It helps lower my general anxiety levels have always had anxiety issues and developed PTSD when I was like 18 so it helps calm the anxiety and helps me mellow out if I get all irritable/grumpy....also helps decrease depressive feelings. I think it also decreases sensory issues like makes most obnoxious sensory input less intense.
So yeah, also it can sometimes help me focus on a task I am doing...like a lot of times i can read more efficiently and concentrate on video games better, do chores better if I smoke first.

I live in WA, where marijuana is legal. I've used it at times when I was feeling anxious, and it was helpful. However, on days when I was suffering from sensory overload, it made things worse. Also, I found it made it very hard for me to focus.
I have to say, stoned people are far less likely to be as*holes than drunk ones!
I think It's long overdue. The benefits for me are exceptional. I started when I turned 21 (just a coincidence age, It's when I finally struck out into the world).
Beforehand, I dealt with severe insomnia -- I still have make-up level dark rings under my eyes to show for it (probably for life). I would go days without eating, while simultaneously being way overweight due to inactivity -- It allowed me to eat, I also think it helped my weight come off but I don't really have anything to back that up with, other than the fact that all of my stress POOF gone, temporarily but It's an AMAZING reprieve.
It also helps me focus, maybe too much If I'm already absorbed in something. Which is fine with me, my focus sober is completely erratic unless It's something I am having fun with/interested in. Most people mistake me for being high af when I've been dry for over a week and don't suspect a thing when I am actually regularly lighting up.
Not to mention I can socialize far better, and It's a great way to get a circle of friends going if you aren't the type to go out to bars/clubs. Plus people who smoke tend to be chill and more acceptable/less aware of my eccentricities. There's definitely dead-beats in every crowd though.
I will say one thing though, I did have a period when I first started where I felt my heart beating RAPIDLY (almost like I could see it through my chest/shirt!) and I could not shake that kind of attack when smoking later on. I just kept going with it LOL and it went away. But some people may not be able to handle something like that, especially if it comes out of nowhere and no one else seems to be phased the same way.
I'm also acutely aware of my brain physically when I'm high which also caused some odd distress here and there, I've asked the NT stoners around me and they don't seem to get what I'm talking about. I'm used to it now though, It's a great ruler for how medicated I am.
If my state doesn't accept recreational use within the next 5~7 years I plan to up-heave my entire life & routine and move somewhere where it is. It's become integral for me in so many ways.
I'll tell you what, I did not expect a flower bud to be the defining turning point of my life.

All the fires of hell are blowing, is the grizzly reaper mowing?
YES! the danger must be growing, for the rowers keep on rowing, and they're certainly not showing,
ANY SIGNS THAT THEY ARE SLOWING! OOOOAAAAAHHHHHHH!
It's raking in big bucks here in Colorado. Despite the legality, etcetera, I can still truthfully state I've never taken a hit of a joint in my 53 years and have no plans to. I did try eating a brownie, but it only made me act goofy and silly. No more.

I live in the netherlands, where MJ has been decriminalized for decades; there are no (violent) crimes associated with it.
Usage and posession is limited, obviously, legally, being high on weed is treated the same as alcohol (no driving a car or heavy machinery, mainly), but other than that, it is pretty much allowed to smoke it, and it is a strange day if on (outdoor) parties or festivals the smell is nowhere to be found.
trade is highly regulated, you are only allowed to buy the stuff in certain stores, and in very small amounts at a time (the stores only have limited stock as well), and having more than 2-3 doses on you is still not allowed (suspicion of sale), the regular small bags will be pretty much ignored, assuming you are of legal age
It seems to me that, unlike many drugs, the major negative effects of the use of THC are as follows:
1: The possibility that you might just never, ever, actually, do, anything. Some people seem to use THC to the point of letting the rest of their life fade into the background noise. I am aware that this is hardly the norm. Also, plenty of people piss away their lives stone cold sober.
2: The possibility that law enforcement will ruin your life.
There may be indirect side effects such as lung problems for traditional smokers. I know the advocates say there isn't, but particulates are particulates. It might not be as bad as tobacco smoke, but breathing a lot of smoke can't be that great for you. Then again, hardly anybody walks around all the damn day long toking weed like some people do with tobacco.
For juveniles, it has the potential to interfere with neurological development. The truth is that your brain keeps growing until you are in your early 20's and high schoolers don't have a functional pre-frontal cortex (because it isn't grown yet). So it should be regulated just like any other legal recreational drug.
Since i live in Utah, i expect that if it ever gets legalized here, it will be right before some bible belt southern state like alabama takes the position of very last state to legalize it.
I've never tried it. i have a hard enough time keeping on top of my life, and i'm too wary of law enforcement. But i imagine that the after effects and health problems associated with it have got to be less than from an equivalent session with alcohol.
I am all for full legalization. I smoke ever ay and have for years. I have a very high tolerance so I don't get "stoned" anymore. I just get more relaxed and I can focus better. Whenever I have a frustraiting and stressful day smoking helps me forget about being stressed and allows me to laugh. It also helps me deal with my stomach issues.
Another great thing it has done is it has enabled me to socialize better. Mainly because when you ask someone to smoke a bowl they rarely say no then you end up spending the next 10-15 minutes passing the bowl. It is a great excuse to get into a conversation with someone.
Dude "Strap on fetus" wtf?????
Anyway in answer to your question i'll tell this anecdote: I have heard dealers irl and on tele all say that they enjoy prohibition. It gives them a stranglehold over the narcotics industry. This means that these substances are being distributed via illegal unregulated channels.
Other thing is that addiction is a response to stress. If you place a group of rats in a cage and offer them the choice between cocaine laced water and pure water they will chose the former. If you provide those rats with mating opportunities games and play equipment they will opt for the pure water. The rats use the cocaine water to fill the void and will consume it until they expire.
We need to change society if we want to deal with drugs.

There are some benefits for some people from using marijuana, and they should not be denied access to it. However, making every drug known to western civilization available to anyone who wants them sounds to me like a recipe for disaster.
