While that cartoon was before my time, the song was still a fond memory from my childhood.
And yes, I agree: I'm sure she would have been a far better first lady than "that shrew."

You mean the lady who originally was the voice of Chiquita Banana died, not the actual character. Otherwise it would be like saying all the great Looney Tunes characters, Barney Rubble and Dino all died when Mel Blanc passed on.

I'm just saying this because not long ago Someone on WP said "RIP, Mrs. Krabappel" and I thought at first she was killed off for real on The Simpson's, like Maude Flanders.

Phil Hartman was the voice of Troy MacLure on the Simpsons, but was "retired" from the show after Mr. Hartman's death. However, Troy still appears in The Simpson's comics since comic books don't need voice actors. Which is kind of nice, in a way...
