I was doing my usual stressing about every interaction I've had today and just thought to myself if I speak to someone and ask them how they are, I can't take any of it in at all, I'm not sure what happens but I seem to switch off if people are making eye contact with me! But if I'm listening to someone else ask them I can remember all of it does anybody else understand what I mean??

Yes, it's a common issue for anyone who suffers from social anxiety. In the past, conversations just went in one ear, and out the other, because I'm obsessing about how I'm coming off to someone -- and getting the hell out of there as quickly as possible.

Every time I try so hard to listen and take it in I'm sitting here just now and I can't remember I word of the conversation at all that I had today with my work mate and I know I replied and took part in the conversation but it's gone!
