So I have been applying for jobs aggressively since the beginning of this month and I have had five interviews and I get called in on Wednesday from the Hilton asking me if I'm still interested in housekeeping and I say 'yes.' I want a job real bad. So I'm asked to come in to do some more additional paperwork and to do a drug test. I go in and I read the papers and sign and even sign for the drug test to be done. Today they get the results back and tell me everything was good and asked me if I was still interested and I say 'yes' again. I'd take any job I applied for. The guy tells me to come in next week April 5th at 8:45 am and to bring any kind of ID with me and social security card or birth certificate and I be there till 3:30. I don't know if I got hired or not so I have to wait till next week. Does anyone know this means I'm hired? I didn't ask "Does this mean I got the job?" I was afraid too.

Sounds like you have almost certainly got it.
Depends what sort of job it is ( i've heard that some 'high-flying' city firms can string these things out.)
Thursday seems like a strange day to start work though.
Maybe it is for induction or training purposes.

For most jobs i would be quite sure you have it.
And if not, it is looking good: there is a good chance that you are going to get it.

[Reminds me of the Seinfeld epsiode where George is in a similar situation.
He is unsure if he has been offered a position, and so turns up for work assuming he has it.
Very funny if you like Seinfeld.]

Yeah, you got it. They just need your IDs and stuff to fill out the paperwork with.

Sounds like an 'orientation day' where they waltz you through the job duties, everyone you'll be working with, and about ten thousand details that will push you into overload that evening.

I always figure if they're shelling out the cash for a drug test they're set to hire you as long as you pass it.

you arent hired, but are right after you get your paperwork and drug tests in and they are aproved!

PS between you and me i dont like the maid field, the chemical smell would be too much for me and just cleaning gets boring! cleaning at krogers is enough
