Dedicated to Rodney

"Tell me a little about what's been bothering you." Dr. Stevenson said

"Well doc, I've been feeling like this institution is keeping me here against my will, I've been robbed of rights and no one cares to listen to my plight." Said the patient

"What causes you to think about wanting to harm yourself?" Asked Dr. Stevenson

"The cost of care is burdening my family, and there's no end in sight. Given the irregularity of my condition there's no telling when I might be recomitted after I'm released from here." He pleaded

"I see." Said the Doctor.

"Also I can donate my organs to people on the transplant list, I suffer from alogia which means I don't experience joy ever, and I feel like maybe it would be better to end my misery and prolong the joyful lives of people on the organ tranplant list. My organs would be better served in their bodies." The patient continued.

"We'll continue the interview after you get your medications." Said Dr. Stevenson.

-They arrive back some minutes later.-

"Tell me more about your suicidal thoughts." Said Dr. Stevenson.

"Oh I was just thinking silly because I didn't have my medications." The patient said.

"Doesn't it strike you as odd, that your thinking has changed so drastically?" Inquired the Doctor.

"Its just the medications doing their work." The patient shrugged.

"Nurse, I have to know what you have medicated this man with. It seems to have impacted the very core of his persona, changed who he is, and I believe that might be unethical. He provided logical reasoning why he wished to commit suicide and now he's like a whole different person." Said the Doctor.

"Alright Mr. Stevenson its past time for your meds." Said the nurse to the patient.

Hehe, I don't know the back story, or who Rodney is. But, I found this little writing pretty amusing.

Sure thing. As a musician, I can relate to having good or constructive feedback. Being a writer is like composing music with the written word.

Yeah, the whole irony revelation last minute thing is a favorite style of mine. This is actually what makes a good newspaper comic strip. Having that funny ironic twist right in the last frame.

If you can manage to make a continuous comic strip series with your style, you might find a successful career that you really enjoy. Just a thought. The next Jim Davis! 8)

Hehe, that's cute and clever! I'm sure lots of people would love it. :D

If you come up with a few more of those, maybe you could show it to your local paper or some company that distributes comics to papers or magazines.

Dev Parks is a good artist. I like his cartoon style.
