Outside her home on Julia Anna Drive sits Eliese Livingston's car, and on the rear window rests a sticker reading, "Autistic child may not respond to verbal commands." It lets others know about the limited communication skills of her 5-year-old son, Kyler.

Tuesday night Livingston discovered someone else left a message of their own on her car, and it made her angry....

I'm sure "undisciplined" translates to "you should beat your kid." :x

Whoever did that not only got brainwashed by Michael Savage, but if that person is from the kid's school, that person is thinking that as an NT, he/she can get away with it just for being an NT.

I remember from my years in MS, I, along, with a fellow spectrum member, were often sent to the principal's office by a distrusting teacher who believed my AS and his Autism weren't real.

What does 'unetitled' mean? Even with all its problems, I would still rather be autistic than a cretinous N.T. douchebag who can't even spell.

Anyway, how dare anyone refer to us as being 'undisciplined'? We are the most self-disciplined people on the planet, with our unparalleled attention to detail, our precision, our ability to concentrate on getting the work done properly the first time around whilst meeting our deadlines, our insistence upon being punctual, and our refusal to compromise when it comes to ethical issues.

You see, they dare. The truth about what they're arguing is usually the last thing people care about. It's pretty normal for someone to be held as an example of precisely those flaws they avoid more than anybody else does. Autistics are definitely prime targets for it.

I'm afraid that he/she is probably right about that.

A lot of people in the comments were talking about "free speech". So I guess that makes this okay. :x Interesting how they always go on about that when someone has been verbally bullied or a victim of a hate crime, which I think this is.

Good point.
I also feel that Free Speech doesn't include the right to glue it to my car...

That's terrible! Autism is neurological difference, not a result of bad parenting. I feel bad for the mother.

I agree wholeheartedly! Many of the NTs who would make fun of me were some of the most undisciplined, uneducated, rude and lazy people I had ever met. Yet, they had the balls to point their fingers at someone else and sneer.

That's horrible. I'm sorry you had to experience that.

CockneyRebel is right... I was thinking the same thing; the people who put the labels on their car are undisciplined and entitled... they feel entitled to get away with this. Hypocrites.

The worst ones though are the ones that think we're mentally ill/ret*d AND spoiled. They're the ones that look at aversives as the solution.

I agree, those people are the worst. Autism and Asperger's are neurological differences. I thought the "refrigerator mother" myth had been long since debunked.

I really don't know what it is with some people whom have been psychologically altered to think that autism means "end of the world". I'll admit I never had anyone sticfk offensive stickers on my car however, there was always people places notes and other written material nearby my workstation in my workplace from years back. Though I find doing such to be very caustic and dis respectful..
