I'm sick of my low IQ. I've been taking Lion's Mane, but I'm not noticing much of a difference.

Yeah. Just read about it on Wiki.

You seemed to have a normal IQ from your posts here.

I'd rather have a high IQ. My IQ is too low.

Why do you want a high IQ? What would you do with it?

Stop watching television. I think that has to help.
More time in nature.

I'm just sick of having a useless brain. I want my brain to actually work.

I don't watch television. I find it boring.

If I were you I'd look at the specific aptitudes you'd most like to improve, and take it from there. Though it's said that practising music improves general intelligence by a few points. I also do a lot of analysing, thinking hard, and striving to understand intelligent stuff, partly because I hope it trains my brain. But I also get concerned that if I take that to the extreme it can be at the expense of other brain functions, such as art and emotional savvy, as well as making me rather dull in some sense of the word, and I think ASDers might be particularly at risk of becoming too geeky. Personally I'm fairly satisfied with my intellectual abilities, though I don't know my IQ and have little interest in measuring it. I'm more concerned that I don't develop the artistic side of my mind enough. Though it would be nice to be able to read Marx and similar authors without my brain hurting.

I think taking up difficult puzzles as a hobby might be more beneficial. But may I ask how do you measure what difference is being produced by taking Lion's Mane?

If you got to college, you'll get smarter.

You cant increase your actual IQ, and even if you could, mushrooms aren't the way to do it.

You can, however, raise your IQ score; the tests have a trick between them, and you can train in getting better scores on tests.
IQ is a bad measure of intelligence anyway

You cannot increase your IQ and even with a "normal" one you could still achieve whatever you are interested in. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the number and actually work with what you have. The IQ has become some sort of an abstract figure that people use to compete with each other. Its relevance is overrated! Ignore it and work with the capability/strengths you definitely know you have.

It not so much IQ as executive functioning skills; basically how you use your brain; not brain capacity.

With a high IQ the capacity is higher but the ability tends to be lower.

No not so; you learn more information but you are not smarter. That's a misconception.

The brain is like a muscle. You have to feed it by eating protein rich food and you have to train it by mental exercise. Some people more easily increase their brain capacity than others, but every single human being can train their brain in a wide range of aspects to increase their mental power. There is no magical pill or supplement that will increase your intelligence.
