Never had a cast on a leg, but in my late teens I had one on my left arm for a few weeks due to a ripped tendon. I used to use the rabbet ears off my TV set to scratch down the cast with. When it was finally taken off my arm looked so thin and white that it looked like it did not belong on my body.
