Hello, I'm new to this forum and I'm really nervous about being here. People and me generally don't go well together unless they're in a raid group with me in some MMO or they're my boyfriend.

To get this started: I'm a 25 year old girl living in Canada. I have no formal diagnoses of autism but I know with every fiber of my being that it is the case. I've been diagnosed with many other mental illnesses in the past and once during admission to a psychiatric ward my psychiatrist of that one day very quickly asked m e if I had autism or was on the spectrum. He remarked how I didn't make eye contact and acted extremely uncomfortable in the presence of people.

I thought nothing of it until 3 years later which was around two weeks ago. I was pondering why I am how I am and why I have always been bullied and why I acted so differently from everyone else and then the words of my one day psychiatrist came to me. Then research began followed by a lot of tears of joy because out of all the diagnoses and medications that didn't work I had finally found the one thing that made my life and struggles make sense and explained so much about myself.

Anyway long story short- here I am. I hope that we can get along even though I'm not yet diagnosed, I have an appointment on the 19th of this month with my psychiatrist and I'm going to bring it up and seek a diagnoses so i can begin educating my family who struggled a great deal to raise me.

I hope I'm not coming off as rude, I'm hesitant saying I have a form of autism when it's undiagnosed for fear of upsetting people who do have a diagnoses or somesuch. Besides the autism I'm pretty shy, I don't go out much and I play a lot of video games and roleplay often. My life is pretty tame and uninteresting at the moment and I think I'm pretty happy with that.

I look forward to getting to know many of you, or at least quoting you in some thread. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Welcome! :D I think that you will like this website. I certainly have found it to be helpful. What few jerks there are on it are easily avoided. As far as being an undiagnosed Aspie, that's step 1. There are people on here who are admittedly NT, so this site is not exclusive.

Hi and welcome to to Wrong Planet!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. And don't worry about not having an official diagnosis yet -- from what I've seen, a lot of people are self-diagnosed and sometimes that is enough. But getting an official diagnosis would just help confirm it for you. I hope your appointment goes well. :)

Welcome! I am also from Canada.

Most people here are friendly so there is nothing to be afraid of, the forum format takes a bit of getting used to but other then that it's great, I'm actually more used to SMF forums and whatever Math SE is.
