I can't deal with the brainless abusive people that exist on this planet. I wonder if they are really living or in some kind of dream.

I live on this quiet street. There are 3 old people's homes on it. It's dead quiet. But there is this one stupid bloody household with some family who makes so much noise and disturbs everyone (or is it just me ?) Their grown up children -who don't seem to do school or jobs- have bought these cars with extra loud exhausts. And burn up and down all day. Jesus I hate it, I can't get comfortable in my flat because any second RAAAAAAWROOOOOR the car from next door arrives. And then they sit in the car giggling and revving the engine. Jesus, where is my gun.

I want to speak to them about it but I don't want to be punched in the face - I figure if they don't care about anything why would they care about me complaining ?

And the council, police and everyone else are not interested in doing anything. So the only option is suffering, or selling this bloody flat that I have taken a year and half to buy. Great f**k me then.

Everywhere it is the same. I get an early train in to work at 6am (into London Victoria) everyone is half asleep, but there'll always be one group of people talking loudly for the whole journey. At Victoria as the doors open at the station at 845am, there is a massive pile up of people desperate to get there 2 seconds faster, what for ? And then there's the people who are so desparate for a smoke after being on the train and light up as they exit the train doors. I dodge the clouds of heinous smoke as I walk through the station.

Then onto the Tube (the London metro) for the last bit of my journey to work. Great, now it's time to catch my disease of the week. There's always someone coughing open mouthed right in your face just so you have a good covering of whatever cold or flu virus they have been incubating this week. If it's not that then there'll be some guy with headphones making tchk-tchk-tchk-tchk noise all the way there -> does he not think there is anyone else in the packed carriage. Or someone eating a burger whilst squeezing into the carriage and dropping the box on the floor on the way out.

Have people always been like this ?

Am I the only one who hates it ?

It hurts being hurt by these people. Is there no justice, no sense.

Totally relate having lived in london myself and worked there. What a nightmare. Can also relate to the noise where you live, as I have the housemates from hell and there are a load of youths across the road who in Summer rev up their motorbikes constantly...drives me mad, I would scream out the window in my rage at the noise.

I freaking hate those little Hondas... are those what you're talking about? If it is, I can't believe they have them out there too. Around here about 70% of those stupid things have pretty obviously been in a wreck, so I figure they'll go extinct at some point. Or at least stop driving like coked up ret*ds. Anyway, you're lucky you're at least in London, because I run into the same crap out here and I can guarentee you I'd be much happier running into it over there.

we might be twins - i'm disturbed by almost every noise, and ugh, the 'disease of the week' thing oh yeaaahh, they come in to work to spread it around. deesgusting! have you ever noticed how many people at work don't wash their hands after using the toilet, ugh, then they go and touch stair rails and elevator buttons and communal keyboards. another disease factory is onsite childcare at work. thank god management had the sense to veto that! There was a really interesting incident where a co-worker bought her kids into work for the day because she couldn't get a sitter and they turned out to have measles. Several adults were infected and it's quite a serious illness in adults.

In this country they've introduced 'anti-hoon' legislation which is directed at those revheads who disturb others peace. It's been around for a few years now and is being used. the cops can confiscate offenders' cars. most of them are unlicensed drivers anyway so they cop big fines and lose their cars for 12 months. Don't you have some 'antisocial behaviour' legislation in the UK? I have heard of it.

i no longer work so i'm not exposed to the germs as much (phew), i stay at home if there's cold/flu going around.

i'm trying to move to a quiet area maybe a small acreage if i can afford it, but from what i've heard you just get a whole load of different noise...trailbikes, chainsaws, roosters etc.

can't wait till i'm dead, at least it'll be quiet!

Commuting is hell. I had to find a situation where I could walk to work or take a short bus ride. I kinda feel guilty because I was always quick to light up as soon as possible, but I did try to stand out of the way of others first. One time a woman told me that if god wanted me to smoke he would've built me with a chimney. I wanted to lash out, but it actually made me laugh when I tried to picture it.. =)

Buy earplugs or headphones. Noise-cancelling ones like Bose or an IPod.

Yes I've lived with all those kinds of things. I don't think you should get rid of your flat, because those people are everywhere. Noise cancellers might be better - earplugs are cheap, then the headphones.

Also if you wear glasses, take them off. When I remove mine, half the world disappears.

re smokers - the Victorians knew a trick or two - put some drops of lavender essential oil on a kleenex and breathe through that till you're clear of smokers.

Also, those kids with cars? They're going to grow up, maybe they'll move, instead of you?

Do your neighbours do this at all hours?

I'm not surprised the old age homes haven't stopped it - the residents probably can't hear it, or anything else. Mom used to turn off her hearing aid, end of problem.
