So I practice Bikram yoga almost every day and last night my studio had a special "Nite Sweats" class where they played music (class is usually silent except for the instructor) and had crazy disco lights and glow sticks. I thought it sounded really fun and since I had missed my regular class earlier in the day I felt like I needed to go.
Unfortunately, only 5-10 minutes into the class I was so sensory overloaded that I couldn't do any of the poses correctly and I kept losing my balance and falling over.
Now I'm not sure I want to go back because I'm so embarrassed about what happened. I know everyone noticed how badly I was doing (I'm normally very good at most of the poses). The instructor even told me he noticed I was struggling.
Any words of encouragement or advice?

Hey electriclatte.

I know this is easier said than done, but seriously, don't worry about it; everyone's bound to embarrass himself/herself at least once in their life, right? If someone asks you about last night, then just casually brush it off and say that you were having an off-day. Personally, my mind sometimes blow things out of proportion and makes it seem like a bigger deal than it really was, so something that helps me is giving myself some time to reflect and to put things into perspective. Also, it seems like you were enjoying your time at that studio with your day classes, so try to hang in there. Hope that helps.
