For a long time now I have been planning on writing a story. Like a short book. It will be based on me and my move to a small seaside town. It will be pure fiction. Sort of a supernatural mystery. The boy in it will be autistic and able to pick up on things others don't. I have that as a premise, but have no real idea for the entire plot yet. I have read people with autism are not supposed to be good with fantasy fiction.
Hello, dear. Congratulations on your decision to become an author! I am a writer (and have written professionally since 1999), but I write articles, and they're primarily non-fiction (informative and/or health, for the most part). I have, however, written a few short stories, including a story of a fish being caught, from the fish's perspective. It was a sort of a morbid-humor piece. ("You think YOU'RE having a bad day? I get the bitching from the wife in the morning about not bringing in enough algae only to walk out the door and have some moron shove a hook into my face!")
I do find it's more difficult to write fiction. (That's just me.) In my case, it's more achieving an engaging plot than the actual writing.
If I can help you in any way, please let me know.
