achievement testing in school

What are some good, reliable tests/evaluations that can be used by schools that do not rely heavily on language? The combination of Asperger's and auditory processing disorder make it a nightmare for my son, age 15 to go through the usual smattering of evaluations for his IEP review. He looked terrible on paper after being given the WISC, but I know he has more skills and strengths! It feels like they're trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. Any suggestions?
