I just wanted to post this to see if I'm the only one.

- I don't turn the light on when using the bathroom. I just have nightlight going.
- I take a shower with the lights off. Unless it's pitch black.
- I really prefer the graveyard but family permits me to having a daytime life.
- The sun is so bright I just go back inside.
- Sun glasses are a must or I can't drive.
- I work and live with the window shades closed.

I like things dark too, but I think I may just need a little more light than you. I do need the lights on for a shower. Other wise...
I prefer fall because the sun sets earlier, and no light reflecting off of the snow. Sunglasses during all daylight hours when outside, even on a cloudy day. I move around my apartment with just the TV light at night. I don't use a nightlight in the bathroom because they can keep me awake. I just don't bother with lights at all after I've turned the lights out and TV off for the night.

I always keep the lights dim. My bedroom is lit by a single 40-watt bulb at night. It always feels way too bright during the day, especially outside.

The same for me, the less light the better.
I have even, at times, worn sunglasses outside at midnight, becouse it was full moon and that was too much light for me.
Unfortunately, i live and work with other people, who insist on turning on lights, also when i'm just reading the newspaper in the morning, the first thing they do is turn on the lights becouse "you (me) can't read otherwise".
:S really, if that were true, i'd turn on the lights myself thankyouverymuch...

me too. except in my infinite wisdom i've lost my sunglasses right now.

i sit in the dark. screens on lowest brightness settings always. world is still (always) too bright for my liking.

when i can't go outside, it's not lack of physical energy or mental desire to e.g. walk but because it's too bright and visually intensive outside.

Yep, can't stand bright lights or being outside on a sunny day. Most of the bulbs in my house are 40watt and many times I don't even bother with them since I have night-lights through the house that is usually sufficient for me. Curtains on the windows are almost never opened. Outside I prefer a baseball cap pulled low over my eyes or sunglasses.

Yes, I do the exact same thing. I keep the light off in my room, blinds closed, I shower in the dark, only ever turn the light on if I need to brush my teeth or shave but I usually prefer to do the latter in the shower and then finish up rough spots in the mirror. I really don't like looking in the mirror though and I've had to address that in therapy.

My therapist even dims the light for me during sessions, though we don't talk in complete darkness obviously, still very pleasant.

I have one light, with a 40-watt lightbulb, that is on 24/7 and gives enough light for every room----even the bathroom, where I rarely turn-on the light (even when showering).

My blinds are ALWAYS closed (there's plenty of light, still).

I have lived here 17 years, and the overhead kitchen light, has never, ever, been changed (it's only been turned-on, a handful of times).

I wear sunglasses, even on overcast days.

I prefer natural light and for whatever reason like wearing my sunglasses even when it's cloudy out.

I hate the sun. Severely. I wish every day was cloudy. However I don't wear sunglasses (or jewlwry, watches or anything other than clothes or shoes) because I hate the way they feel.

Indoors is totally different. Being in the dark makes me sort of depressed and definitely tired. I actually have a light on in almost every room always.

I would prefer to sleep with a light on, but sleep better without it. I have very troubling evil dreams sometimes and hate waking up from them in the pitch black.

Huh.... Seems like I'm in the minority here, but I actually like light-- both natural and artificial. Since I also suffer from depression, I feel like it helps my mood even if it's from a lightbulb in my ceiling fan. Cloudy and rainy days make me feel pretty crappy and tired (and can give me headaches).

In my case, it varies...

I'm fine with tolerating light in general. If anything, in the middle of chaos, sight is the least overwhelmed of all senses.
Despite being near-sighted, I can see or at least deal better in the dark than most people.
Reminds me of times of quietly doing random house chores in the dark past midnight.

However, it doesn't matter much to me if I'm working under a bright or dim light. I'm not even sure which is 'just right' for me. Flickering lights doesn't distract me much, flashes doesn't overwhelm me. Wearing shades in or outdoors doesn't make much of a difference to me.
I adapt fast when transitioning to light to dark, dark to light.

I don't mind living in a daylight. Neither living in a dark.
But whenever I end up in a meltdown or shutdown, I usually run into dark and quiet places. It's where I recover faster.

The darker the better. I have super night vision. At school I am usually wearing my shades.

Another creature of darkness here. I dim or extinguish light whenever possible (sunglasses, curtains/blinds, no overhead lights turned on, heavily shaded lamps...)

Does any one else get dizzy and have extra difficulty coordinating movement and sensing depth and distance in very bright light (sunlight & super-bright fluorescent or halogen lights such as those in large stores and schools etc... are the light sources that cause this for me.)

Well, I don't recall it ever making me dizzy, per se; but, fluorescent lighting makes me sick-to-my-stomach (until I get adjusted----then, it often makes me feel anxious), causes difficulty in coordinating movement, causes difficulty in sensing depth and distance, and causes me to be addle-brained (like, I have more difficulty remembering what I'm doing, at times). Also, at least ONE time, I was with someone who turned-on a light, in a darkened room, and it made me have a seizure.
