Be cool to see which members like their bikes on here. I ride BMX mainly now but I have ridden loads of bicycle trials in the past.

I like my road bike :). I just use it for my own enjoyment (and transport); I don't compete. I'm not really into mountain biking etc.

This is me back in the seventies.
I rode three National Championships, you have to be one of the fastest 120 cyclists in the country to qualify.
Gave it up though after the last National Championship when I crashed and broke some bones and wondered what was the point of spending every spare minute training?, for what?, to fall off and watch your fitness and all that hard work evaporate in the six weeks before I could get back on a bike.

I love road cycling; I go out almost every day. One of the few things that make me feel calmer.

I'd like to be a serious cyclist, but I can't due to health issues, namely I suck at putting on weight (and therefore having decent muscles with which to pedal).

never tried any bmx type of biking but I road bike quite a bit. farthest I've gone is from Seattle to LA in 3 weeks, but through the mountains and the desert not on the coast.
I would like to try mountain biking but I don't know how I could get into that without buying a mountain bike.

I love riding my bike for transportation and leisure. I ride an average of 20 minutes every day when school is in session.

I'm currently living in northern Minnesota, and I quickly discovered that I would rather ride my bike in the snow than take up time defrosting and scraping my car in the morning, even when it gets down to -40 degrees F.

There are also tons of beautiful, easily accessible tails and bike lanes here.

I took a 80 kilometre trip on Saturday... It was cold as hell (I live in Denmark) and slippery (I crashed early on)...

But I don't give a s**t... I want to ride my bicycle!

I used to mountain bike before my spinal cord injury...

Since then I've started riding a recumbent trike. Back in the summer, I was riding about 100 miles/week on the local trail system.

I rode about 7 miles today--my first ride since getting out of the hospital in Oct.

I love bicycles, I love watching people cycle, I think it's an ideal solution for travelling around town and further, and I'm an advocate for cycling and bicycle infrastructure in cities.

However I cannot ride a bike :( :(

Never learnt as a child. Tried to learn last year for the first time on a friend's bike but found it near impossible. I finally bought a bike yesterday and will try to teach myself to ride. Not promising anything - my sense of balance is abysmal.

Have you thought about riding a trike?

I mountain bike in the spring, summer and fall! In the summer I usually go out in the evening; head out around sunset and back down in the dark (I have lights, lol!) I'll never forget the first time I went out at night; I came around a corner into a clearing and the field was covered with glowing eyes peering back at me out of the darkness! (Deer, lol) :D

I got into mountain biking to get myself out of a depressive state; the physical activity helped. Each time I went out, I'd go a little bit farther.
