I think Finnish and German polka sound pretty different from each other. Apparently it all just sounds like polka to other people.

Same instrumentation, but a very different style.

The first has the "om pah" sound. And an identifiable melody over the beat.

The second is quite different. Strident, and almost omnious in sound. With the second its hard to identify the beat. There is a strong down beat each bar but its hard to hear other beats in the complex melody. Speaking of which - you cant hum the tune after you hear it like you can the first one. Would be a good beer hoisting song, but not as good as the first one to actually dance polka too.
