Mine is The Powerpuff Girls and I guess Australia. I'm Canadian but I pretend to be/live in Australia and often speak with the accent, as well as use the their writing style (Australian/British opposed to Canadian/American).

Along similar lines, but this hasn't been a passing obsession. I Love Anime and things regarding Japan. I have like 150 songs, all in japanese, most from anime, but a few pop songs (Like one from AKB 48) and the sort.

Current obsession that will pass at some point, the music from the anime Your Lie In April. Always been a fan of classical music, but their performances of these classical pieces of, I can listen to hours at a time. The tunes will prop into my head at random times and what not.

I'm trying to avoid being obsessed with stuff.
Mostly I'm refreshing WP, sometimes listen to music or watching stream. That's as obsessive as it gets with me right now.
I feel like if I get really obsessed with something I'll lose myself, and for some reason I don't want that, lol.
Of course I'm kinda bored at times, but that's a price I'm semi-ok with paying.
Then again, I wonder if I could still become long-term obsessed with something or maybe I'm just telling myself "hey, I'm suppressing it" when in reality I just can't get obsessed with anything anymore.

Gaming is my main one and what I spend the most time doing, by far.

And there is also this now:

Image

Bloody amazing just how many different ones there are out there.... I havent even come close to merely scratching the surface of these. I've now solved all of the ones in that picture at least once (usually more than once, some a great many times) except that big white cube in the back, which is partially solved in the picture.

The two in the middle that look like a horrible tangled mess look like perfect cubes when solved. The one on the far left also changes shape kinda like those do, though the other pyramid does not.

I have a whole bunch more ordered and coming in the mail soon. Most of which will be harder than the ones in this group. Probably.

I have alot of fun with these.

And if anyone is wondering just what the anime is in that box on the left there, it's a series called "Control", which looks bizarre and at least mildly freaky. I havent gotten around to watching it yet... I'll get to it eventually.

Writing efficient C code. It has also been suggested in here that maybe I obsess about how I'm perceived by others, which might be true.

How long do your obsessions usually last and how intense are they? Do you for instance skip sleeping and eating? I usually don't. For me it's the same (or at least similar) interests that change in intensity. Normally I can fit one or two interests at a time, one for working hours and sometimes another one for my spare time. Sometimes if I'm excited I will postpone eating till I'm very hungry or if I can't sleep I'll get up in the middle of the night. But I don't feel that it in any way causes troubles for me, as I have heard it can for some.

Lately, it would definitely be researching random information about Aspergers/Autism & other conditions. I've also been into AFL (Australian Football) for the past two years or so. I watch every game that the team I follow plays, and read every article posted on their website & Facebook/Twitter. Both of these are what I would classify as "minor obsessions" however. My current "proper obsession" is a specific video game (MMO), which I've been back into it for the past few weeks.

I like twisty puzzles as well. If you'd like to discuss them with me, please feel free to personal message me and we can talk about twisty puzzles.

Maths is my special interest. It's been that way for over 3 years now. It is actually my longest running special interest, I think I'll never not like maths. Maths is so fascinating. I can't pinpoint exactly why I like it but my therapist thinks it might be because of my autism. He reckons I find numbers and equations easier to read then people.

I'm sort of in between interests right now. I went through a Class B/Van Conversion aka van dwelling phase and hiking phase recently. I put them on the backburner because I don't have the money to actually do them and they lost their luster because of it.

I guess my current interest is running, but I'm not able to run due to shin pains. I still follow runner message boards and read up on info though.

I need to win the lottery, because this is depressing.

My current special interests are forums, disabilities, learning about how people interact and behave, and Choose Your Own Adventure books.

My obsessions usually last several years--the ones I listed above have been around for between four and nine years. They don't make me skip sleeping and eating or keep me from participating in any activities, usually. The most they do is distract me from my homework.
