Yes, I do.
I used to spend hours on Myst when I was younger.
It's an excellent game.

I hated it on PC. So hard and boring.

I have never played Myst, and I don't know what it is :?.

All I know is that I prefer Final Fantasy :D

I generally don't like PC-style adventure games. The puzzles in them always seem so arbitrary to me. Like The Curse of Monkey Island-it looked great, it had great writing and voice acting, but the puzzles are totally arbitrary. I swear it's stuff like "combine the stick of gum and the stick to form a slingshot to knock down a balloon that falls into a bird's nest, to knock out a key, that opens a skull, that gives you a red gem, that...

They normally seem completely nonsensical to me.

That said, back when Riven (Myst 2) came out, I really enjoyed that. The graphics and music were amazing for the time, and I remember sitting up at my computer late at night with the lights out, just getting sucked into that world. I thought it's puzzles were more logical too.

But a year ago I tried playing the original Myst, and got stuck almost immediately and quit.

I played through Phoenix Wright, and enjoyed it at first (fun writing), but it got boring too before the end, and I have no desire to play the second one.

So I've played a LOT more RPGs than adventure games.

I hate all PC games, as they're all lame. Except Unreal that is.

I think my love of JRPGs came from my love of point and click adventure games when I was young. That said, I never liked the Myst series at all. I thought it the most boring game I'd ever played in the genre.

In the adventure genre, some of my favourites were The Dig, Full Throttle and Broken Sword. I never got the chance to play Monkey Island, which from what I hear is considered the pinnacle of the genre.

I complete Myst and Riven with my dad when I was younger. And then I did Myst III by muself as I was old enough. But since then I haven't been playing the newer games. I love the ones I mentioned though. Great puzzle solving, like a real world you can get absorbed into.

I loved the music, visuals, and feel of myst, even the story wasn't bad. I am surprised the creators didn't modernize it into a first-person game engine or RPG or something. The only problem with the game was that it was hard (I ended up using clues) and took a lot of time without big payoffs. It was also a bit short and did I say it took a lot of time for small payoffs? Oh, and it was horrendously 2 dimensional!

That wouldn't be the point. That would ruin the idea of it for me. I don't like shooter games really. I think MYST should be thought of as a cross between art and a game. And it does that brilliantly. I found the latter releases not quite as good but still excellent. But then I have a long concentration span for things I like doing so it was easy for me to spend a long time doing it. It does take a LONG time.

They sort of did. RealMyst came out a few years ago (could be 5 by now). It was supposed to be basically Myst, only done in 3D. Graphically it actually looked better than the original 2D screens could look back when Myst came out.

I think some of the last 3 games might have 3D elements too, though I'm not sure. I think Myst 3 and 4 were done by the developer that did The Journey Man Project (rather than Cyan), and like TJMP, may have used QuickTime VR or something like that to do a pseudo-3D. (I haven't played 3, 4, or 5 yet, though I do own 3).
