And make a lot of money with it.

Wonder what the Trump partisan will say now.

Having served in the military as an enlisted man and as an officer, I must agree that the media - on both sides of the aisle has been very dishonest to the public. While I don't like Trump, or any of the candidates on either side, stating how dishonest the media is is far from limiting free speech. It's stating a fact. You may not like it, may even be naive enough to think otherwise, but it is true nonetheless.

The media has lied a lot, but so has Donald Trump. Plus so many politicians lie to help their agendas. It's sickening really. Donald Trump has zero right to even be running, with all the racism he spews all the time. I'm hoping his lies knock him out of the presidential race. I have a huge feeling if he was elected, he would just tick off so many people and we would be stuck with him probably. The whole wall nonsense to stop people from coming in from Mexico is idiotic and spews racism. Personally I feel most of his supporters are as racist as he is, which is sad. It's 2016- racism shouldn't be a thing anymore. Every person of every gender and race should be treated equal, period. Illegal immigrants should be dealt with in a decent manner, not in any of the ways he has proposed.

But the fact is, the media today is absolutely no different from the media of yesteryear, save in the scope of 24 hour news channels and the internet. Hearst after all had lied us into the Spanish-American war. Regardless, protection of the press keeps freedom of speech alive and well. Crack down on one news source that had been critical of Trump, and the next thing you know, the rest of freedom of speech will be cracked down on. And from there, other liberties would follow down the sh*tter, because it's through freedom of speech that we can demand our rights be protected.

Unfortunately for Trump (and fortunately for everyone else), there's this leading SCOTUS case called NY Times v, Sullivan, which holds that a public figure---that would be Trump---cannot sue for libel unless he can prove that the untruth was posted "maliciously"---which is defined as "knowingly false, or made with reckless disregard for the truth".

Unless he plans to "fire" the present court and appoint 9 toadies, I wish him the best of luck---he'll need it.

I think that Trump may well have a point. Certainly here in the UK the media lies a lot, often very subtly with the type of language used. It's very different to counter their arguments when the truth is suppressed or deliberately hidden.

Enforcing the rule of law is far from racist. And perhaps you should read up on the infamous Football War of the late sixties where two Latin American countries went to war over this very issue. Furthermore, the term illegal immigrant is an oxymoron. An immigrant is a person entering a country via legal means. Illegals are illegal aliens, whether you like the legal term or not. And considering that my former wife was half African American, and that I'm part Powhatan, I'd love to watch you make a fool of yourself by calling me racist! I agree! We need to close the borders.

So, the same free speech that granted him the right to be abusive... heck, Erdogan did exactly what he wants to do but at least he doesn't seem to be as abusive of the same speech... what's with hypocrisy and modern politicians/sleazy businesses...
