Can changing your sleeping times disrupt your cat's routine?
I've been going to sleep at around 4am lately when it used to be 1am.
This seems to be confusing Flo who has her own routine as well.
Should I start going to bed earlier?

I think cats are going to sleep 18 hours a day, no matter when you go to bed.

I wouldn't even know the cat that lives in my house was ever active if I didn't hear her running around at night.

Why, she's a cat. Flo will get used to the change and adapt.

No, she can sleep when she wants. It's when you feed her that might drive her up the wall.

When I lived with my dad and our cats, the cats would sleep when I slept... and when I went out... and just about any other time. ;)

She seems to be annoyed that I'm still on the internet though
I think she sleeps better at night when I'm sleeping as well, she's used to that
She does sleep a lot though :D
And my mum feeds her, so she's OK for food

My sleep patterns are pretty irregular, & sometimes it seems to ignore my cat, though he's thriving. If a person went from one regular pattern to another, it would probably confuse the cat for a short time.

My cats couldn't care less what I'm doing, except that when I go to bed it apparently signals to them that it's time to run through the house, knock things over, and rip each other to shreds.

Molly seems to have found a new routine since I've been on holiday. Every twenty minutes she's awake and not sleeping, she demands to be fed.

This may be because she is usually left alone during the day, and can't get any more food than we leave for her in the morning, or it may be because she's turning into a greedy lump in her old age...

I agree with ahayes. I haven't given my cats wet food in years, 'cos my husband doesn't like the smell. However, when I lived alone, my cats were very used to the fact that they got wet food at a certain time each day. If I slept in, their routine was disrupted and they'd get upset. Otherwise, I don't think they care what I do.
