I just got into Hearthstone last month and am extremely addicted. I got up to rank 13 a couple of weeks ago but a back to 19 since I changed my deck. I'm obsessed with the freeze Mage play style.

Anyone else play? My battle net ID name is Xuion if you want to add me. If that doesn't work you can add me by my email which is sharpeology (a-t) me (d-o-t) com

I play it a bit, but... eh. It gets a bit repetitive. The same decks have a tendency to appear over and over and over and over and over and over... only Arena mode ends up being truly interesting. There's just not much flexibility for deck creation in the usual meta, particularly since they dont add new cards even close to often enough, and they NEVER rotate old ones out of ranked mode or whatever (there's a reason why M:TG does this).

No. From what I've gathered it sounds like a p2w mobile game.

I did for a while. Pretty fun, well designed game. I couldn't stay motivated enough to keep up though. Before I quit I got a gold Mal'ganis, but I dusted it for a Dr. Boom.

I tried to play Hearthstone but... the anxiety involved in a multiplayer game got to me after like 2 matches.

It's a fun game, but I don't feel comfortable playing it.

It's a TCG (trading card game). *All* TCGs involve you buying the cards. Only digital TCGs actually give you free cards by letting you earn some (so that, techinically, you CAN play Hearthstone and get to the highest ranks without paying a dime; in physical ones, it's a very expensive hobby); physical ones dont of course. TCGs have been around for a long, long time (Magic in particular, that game is the biggest one and also oooooooooold; played it as a kid even, I did), but only recently have some of them been in "digital" form instead of physical form.

It's not a bad game, pretty good actually, and it's complex as hell when you get into it far enough, as all TCGs are. But the repetition is the issue really. Honestly if it werent for that I think I'd like it alot more.

That being said though, TCGs are typically NOT for those on a small budget. They're different from normal games in that they're more of a full hobby of their own rather than just a game.

Ah, I have this very same issue! I dont get it quite AS bad... I can resist it for a time to play online games of various sorts... but only for a short time.

But it's very, very annoying. I really wish the problem wasnt there. I like playing competitive games but I get so overly worked up over them and generally paranoid, and... well, unpleasantness in general.

I will say though that it really, REALLY helps if you can play games with friends first before trying to play with strangers.

I played it for a little while, until I realized just how ridiculously P2W it is. It's kind of a shame, because in most respects it's a well designed game, like if Magic: The Gathering actually had a good implementation on PC.

I play it all the time, So much so that I have those weird dreams that where you literally just play the game in your and then when you wake up, for a while you will be doing thinking about other things or trying to solve a problem and some how you will imagine it like it is a game of hearthstone. Ohh and all my adds on this site at the moment are all for hearthstone soooooo.

I tried it for a little bit, didn't like it. Honestly feels like a casual version of Magic the Gathering, which is a bad thing in my view. Magic the Gathering is an awesome game (even though all the ban lists and crap for certain formats is stupid).

I can agree with that to a point, though I think both games have their merits. But Magic will always be my favorite.

....however, it's basically impossible for me to get anyone to play it with me without going to MTGO (which I might go back to soon here, it'd give me something extra to do, wouldnt it...) so I aint played it in ages. At least with Hearthstone it's *really* easy to find an opponent.
