I'm curious about anyone who wears makeup with AS so here's my thing. I really didn't care for makeup until I was 16 going on 17. When I started wearing makeup, I wasn't doing it for society. I did it because I loved it and wanted to get better at it and not for pro-wrestling reasons. I wanted to get better at it personally day time or night time, because at the time I wanted to venture out. At first I was doing every color theory with my makeup wrong along with the incorrect type of brushes and how to use them.
Started relying on YouTube though my first few years with blending shadows and I still do. But then I realized it better to get inspired by their looks or any female celebrity. Like I think I have came a bit. But I so want to keep improving my makeup skills. So here's the question: Does any one like makeup even with AS? If so what do you like about it and why do you wear it? And how often? Or...What trends from other decades do you like if you're not a fan of current trends that you still use?
Also I'm curious to know if you do use makeup what is your favorite brand drugstore, department store or indy brand of makeup?
Makeup doesn't have rules but I'm curious if anyone wears makeup.

I absolutely love make up. Like you, I didn't really touch make up as a teenager and actually didn't really start properly wearing it until I was in my 20s.
I probably don't wear make up "conventionally". I like to be creative and use bright colours. Like my clothes, I wear what makes me feel happy, even if that's not very conventional. When I'm at work, I wear smart-looking, toned-down make up, although occasionally I will wear bright red or purple lipstick if I feel like I need cheered up.
I started off watching YouTube videos to learn application techniques. Now, I mostly see a look that I like and either look for photos of that person so I can work out how they do their make up or find a YouTube tutorial if I'm lucky.
Although I usually wear make up for myself, sometimes if I'm going into a situation I know will be difficult (like having to interact with lots of people) I put on a good face of make up because it makes me feel more confident.
Yeah I love make up, it's an essential part of my morning routine. I like all kinds - from drugstore to high end. My favourite brand is probably too faced but I always stock up during drugstore sales.
My biggest pet peeve however would have to be winged eye liner and false lashes. I love the look of both but trying to apply them usually results in a meltdown
Yes! YES! A serious pleasure in my life!! ! I loved my mum's lipsticks when I was a kid, but I didn't wear "proper" makeup until I was about 27 or so. But I always loved it. It's part of my routine at the weekends now (I rarely wear in the week because I'm just in the house) and I just love applying it. Even more so than wearing it, I think. I love heavy makeup, especially eye makeup... but now I have to wear glasses all the time, there's been little point in paying attention to my eyes, so, I turned to wearing a lot of lipstick instead! I miss getting to wear false eyelashes (they just bang against my glasses!), but I enjoy the lipstick colours you can get these days, so.
Like you I got better at makeup through Youtube. I watch a LOT of makeup artists on Youtube and I love learning how to better my makeup skills. I do wish I had more money for more makeup & brushes, etc. though!! I love Urban Decay but I can't really afford any of it. I do own the Primer Potion which was a great addition to my routine. Every time I buy something "higher end" it always goes wrong, as well... I got a sample of Illamasqua's SkinBase to try and match my difficult skin-tone, and it matched in colour but the formula was AWFUL! I'm not the only one to experience that, either... seems to work for about 50% of people and not for the rest! Shame!! It put me off trying other foundations that were more expensive... though I really want to try some of NARS foundations because, again, the colour range is so good. I don't find I can ever get a match with drugstore foundations which cater mostly to beige skin and not much else
I actually hate taking my makeup off... not because I want to keep it on but I'm just lazy, I think. It's so much work because I like to wear a lot of makeup and a lot of waterproof mascara and that is hard to get off!!
I do find the sensory issues of wearing makeup a little awkward... but I enjoy it so I don't mind too much. I do so much in my life that's forced but unenjoyable, so I kind of just go right ahead & indulge in something I love that's slightly uncomfortable as well, haha. Because at least I love the effect and putting it on!

Too Faced is one of my favorite brands as well. I feel you there with eyeliner and false lashes. I have no problem with applying lashes on other's but the opposite on myself. Hmm winged liner. Have you tried using tape as long as long as you remove some of the stickiness and not do your foundation done? But a simpler solution would be use a business card.
Maybe this might help on the liner until you get comfortable where you really don't need to rely on cards to create:https://youtu.be/gXMXvs8ngas
But if you talking liquid liners, I say practice, since liquid liner are not easy to use. A good felt tip liner I recommend for felt tips with liquid liners is L'Oréal Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eye Liner, As much as I'm not into hyped products, another good one is Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eye Liner + Serum, I also suggest Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner if you want to create thin lines.
What I recommend for winged lines which is the most forgiving is a black eyeshadow. Yes it's going to look soft. But as I said. "most forgiving" compared to other types of liner.
I suggest googling how to apply lashes on your self. I am since I might have to apply on other's again.
I will get to everyone without hardcore multiple posts in the topic.

Also really guilty of this! far too lazy to take my makeup off and I'm sure most of it comes off on my pillow lol!
Strangely, I love the sensation of putting my makeup on. Maybe that's one of the reasons I like it so much, because so many other sensory experiences are unpleasant. I have a really amazing stippling brush that I love pushing into my skin when I put foundation on.
I can't have a full face of makeup on my skin when I'm headed to bed. Sleeping in make up is bad. Broke the heck out of my skin.

What's your favorite mascara? I'm looking for something that doesn't cake or smudge. Price doesn't really matter, I'm looking for quality. As far as foundation goes, my skin is sensitive, it's hard to find something not irritating. I used to wear make up until 5 years ago when I lost the job I had for 30 years and had to move 2000 miles away. Guess I have given up on it since I have no friends who see me. My husband doesn't seem to care one way or the other. I did used to feel more confident though when I wore make up and dyed my hair. I have just let everything go to pot, including my belly (get it? Potbelly) since I've been in a five year depression.

Makeup is amazing! I'm wearing Too Faced eyeshadow primer, beige eyeshadow that's more subtle than I usually wear but I'm home right now, L'Oreal telescopic mascara in blackest black and sparkly pink Philosophy lip gloss.
When I go out I wear BB cream, eyeshadow primer, a random eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss. Sometimes I'll wear blush or lipstick or colored lip balm.
The only thing I can't pull off is eyeliner due to my eye shape. I have all sorts of brands. My favorites are Urban Decay, Too Faced, Maybelline, Covergirl and Ulta. I have a palette from Claire's and it's so sparkly!

I tend to wear at least tinted moisturizer or BB cream, and some type of lip gloss, but usually lipstick. I especially love the Urban Decay naked eye shadow, but there are also some really good drugstore ones that look like that, but is cheaper. One of my favorite drugstore brands is NYX because they have great lip glosses and lipstick colors.
Has anyone tried Too Faced's Peanut Butter and Jelly pallette? If so how is it? I am curious to hear what people say about it. And if they made a look from that pallette can we see pictures if you want to.

I used to have to wear makeup for work. When I quit working in an office I didn't wear make up except in rare situations for a long time. What I wear now I do more to deal with unpleasant side effects of age and health problems.
Bare minerals, Urban decay and Origins are what most of my current stash is. I can no longer wear mascara. It doesn't matter what brand etc. it just feels weird, itchy and distracting.

I've always liked make up and nail polishes and perfumes and hair accessories.
Although my collection isn't high end or high brand and I tend to have a small collection of these things.
However I only like specific colours when it comes to make up and I never use tanning sprays or false eye lashes.
I tend to use a bit of concealer, foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick or lipgloss.
That's basically it.

I've posted a small makeup collection in case anyone interested in watching. All Bargain brands.
Though my body is very feminine, my brain feels extremely masculine. My body craves all things girly...where my mind seeks the complete opposite.
This has manifested in an interesting manner.
If I don't have on lipgloss, massacre and something that displays my girls to advantage...and my hair combed...as opposed to up in a scrunchy, I feel like I'm all boy...and I feel uncomfortable in my own skin...like my skin doesn't belong to me.
But if I wear lipgloss and massacre and a tight fitting shirt - even when I'm at home - then I feel like I'm balanced.
It works in reverse. If I watch something too girly or romantic, my mind rebels...and I begin to feel uncomfortable.
I'm also extremely hypersexual. Like I've a male mind, paired with an extremely feminine body...so said male mind wants this body to...
I'm sure you get the idea.
I don't know if that helps.
All of you who love makeup, what do you think when guys say they don't like women who wear makeup (or color their hair, or like to wear girly clothes) and they think of them as "high maintenance"? I just came from a thread about that and it irks me.

Hmm,. I think when guys say that kind of thing, it makes me think why and in a way wouldn't some matience be better than not giving a s--t.
