I'm close to underweight because I can't stand the texture of many foods. I gave up meat because it was hell for my senses, and I can't stand milk or hardboiled or fried eggs. I hate bread, beans and some sorts of pastas, and I can't eat much of what I do like because I have a small stomach. As a result, I'm getting sick frequently, I have anaemia and I'm unfit. I'm taking vitamins and iron supplements but to be honest, I skip them a lot because I'm terrible at swallowing them.

Does anyone have any recommendations for vitamin rich foods that I might be able to eat, or should I just suck it up and eat the hell foods?

Hello there,

As far as I am aware, regarding the food sensitivities, this is a very specific problem; specific in that each individual on the spectrum has such vast differences in the area. For instance, I cannot deal with mushrooms, or like you, meat, but am generally fine with all else. I'm vegan and also take supplements (iron, B vitamins, and a multivitamin) - huzzar for expensive urine! - but it is a greater idea to take these than not. Oh yes, and I cannot swallow tablets, so I chew them and swallow the bits - luckily I'm able to turn off, effectively, my ability to taste, so that iron taste isn't to bad.

My diet consist of the same thing each day, and my dinner provides the greatest source of vitamins and minerals: lentils and quinoa with kale, spinach, and a mixed salad - sometime with a bean salad, but that depends if I have an important function the next day or not! ... "beans beans are good for the heart, the more you eat the more you ... really don't want to venture out into public with a stomach full of ... gas" :)

How are you with salads and leafy greens? Because although they are lacking, in a sense, in a means to fill you up, they are packed full of minerals and vitamins - spinach and kale to an anaemic what oil is to a motor engine.

I have the same issue. There are many foods I can't eat, particularly "wet food" like sauce, soup and such. It's hell. I eat almost the same thing each day, because I'm very limited in what I can eat.

Would a smoothie be any good for you? You can blend together fruits and vegetables and get lots of vitamins.

Well I know that you don't need meat to get protein for stuff, there's nuts, yogurt, and beans as well as dried seaweed for your b12 levels. A great way to get the seaweed in you is to drink GT Kombucha multi green (: It has spirullina and blue green algae in it xD Its too bad that you don't like beans though, they are very soft and so is the yogurt ... Maybe try the kombucha out of all my recommendations and see what happens xD I hope you don't have sensory issues with certain gases being kicked up because when I drink the kombucha I feel like its partially carbonated and those bubbles get to me really fast :P

meat and mushrooms for me as well, but I suck it up for mushrooms. olives when I was younger but now I love them.

nutritional yeast is similar to breadcrumbs but more flaky, it has a nice yellow-orange color, and it's easy to sprinkle on other foods. 2 tbsp has 9g protein, 4g fiber, more than the %DVs of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. it's also 45 calories for 2 teaspoons so it's not very filling or stomach stretching. it might be worth it to give it a try.

also nutrients are absorbed by the body way better through digesting foods with them rather than taking them in pill form, so it's best to try to get all the nutrients you can from your food and then supplement when necessary. I'm wondering, what foods do you eat?
