They made some great songs and were one popular 80s band deserving the success. I was obsessed with "Sowing the Seeds of Love" when I was little (must have been when it was new). That and "Head Over Heels" are my favorites. Great melodies.
**forgot "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," too! I think they got the idea for this song from "Charlie Don't Surf" by the Clash, but both are great.

Amazing how their style evolved so effortlessly from New Wave in the early 80's to the so-called "world sound" (ie, non-white-european) of the late 80's, as shown by these later songs:
This one is one of my favorites, it was a sort of personal theme song for a while...
