The four temperaments test is a personality test, it measures sensitivity and socialization and motivation to learn.

Now i believe that when a person knows what the results will be, a person taking a test will subconsciously click on things to influence the results in your favour, as much as you don't to admit you do it- you do it. So go into this as blind as possible and it will tell you what your results mean. If you already know of this- good for you.

I want to know on average what temperament is common amongst autistics.

I am melancholic

I scored melancholic, but only slightly more than phlegmatic.

My score was the opposite, I am phlegmatic but very close to tying with melancholic.

Phlegmatic, Choleric, Melancholic, and Sanguine correspond to the "four humours" of Medieval/Renaissance times.

Your temperament is phlegmatic. The phlegmatic temperament is fundamentally relaxed and quiet, ranging from warmly attentive to lazily sluggish. Phlegmatics tend to be content with themselves and are kind. They are accepting and affectionate. They may be receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are consistent, relaxed, calm, rational, curious, and observant, qualities that make them good administrators. They can also be passive-aggressive.

2. Melencholic 3. Choloric 4.Sanguine

I think this is correct. I was not fundementrally ralaxed and content pre diagnosis and especially when I was younger. I was much less accepting when I was younger.

I got melancholic.

Followed closely by phlegmatic, choleric way less, and sanguine slightly less than choleric.

Quote:
Your temperament is melancholic. The melancholic temperament is fundamentally introverted and thoughtful. Melancholic people often were perceived as very (or overly) pondering and considerate, getting rather worried when they could not be on time for events. Melancholics can be highly creative in activities such as poetry and art - and can become preoccupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world. Often they are perfectionists. They are self-reliant and independent; one negative part of being a melancholic is that they can get so involved in what they are doing they forget to think of others.

This sounds somewhat accurate because not all of it fits. But then again I never fit into any boxes people create. I can be all over. I fit some in this box and some in the other and so on.

In fact I lack creativity and I could never do poems and I have always been perceived as selfish and uncaring. I don't worry anymore for not being on time for events because I know now you don't have to be there right when it starts and it depends on the event. Some you can't be late for or else you can't get in. But the rest sounds right.

I got melancholic.

Choleric wasn't far behind.
I only scored slightly phlegmatic, and hardly any hits for sanguine.

I got melancholic, with choleric not quite far behind.

Being melancholic doesn't sound like a complete downer in the results, however. Being independent and artistic are two things I really treasure.

We are all 21st Century folks. So none of these labels mean anything to us.

And all them ("bloody"," phlegm like", "something to do with cholera" , and melancholy) sound like terrible things to be.

Except "sanguine" crept out of archaic medicine and into common speech and survives to mean "happy" (though its almost always used in the negative "so and so wont be sanguine about this").
